We're going to book today, I thought I read that many frequent wdw travelers book through CRO, is this the best idea? We have quoted online what it will be. If we call and ask for a special is there a possibility it could be less...would it be more than the online quote? I am comfortable with booking CRO. We're doing a 7 day package at the Poly in October with the DLX Dining Plan, Park Hopper and waterparks and more. Those of you who book with a TA, Why? Sorry, I know I have a lot of questions.

I personally prefer to book myself through CRO. I used my AAA TA last year for the first time (she was a former cast member of mine when we were both at the Disney Store many years ago). Although she was WONDERFUL and knew her stuff, I hated not having any control over my planning/changing. If you book through CRO, you have total control over changing your room requests, adding new discounts that may come available, etc.... but if you go though a TA, everything has to go through them....the only reason I did use my TA is because I wanted the AAA discount on my room because I wanted the DDP as well (If you go through CRO, you have to pay rack rate for the DDP if using the AAA discount). This year we are not using the DDP, so by doing a room-only reservation, I'm going directly through CRO. :) It's really a matter of preference and how much of a control freak you might be (like me :rotfl: :rotfl: )

When I was ready to book both of my trips, I called CRO and a AAA travel agent. I even went to a travel agency in NYC. I felt the AAA travel agent that I spoke to was not very knowledgeable about Disney and she was so pushy! Plus, the AAA savings was not that much. When I went to the travel agency, their quote was so much higher than CRO and AAA!

Like both of you, I am an type-A control freak when it comes to making vacation plans. I wanted to be able to make changes to my reservation and have control over my vacation plans.

If you want to be able to have full control over your reservation and make changes yourself, call CRO.

Butting in here to ask: What is a "CRO"...:rolleyes1 We are wanting to book soon and I am trying to find the best deal.

CRO is WDW Central Reservation Office, in other words calling and booking through disney directly:) I'm new at this too, but the more you read these wonderful threads, the more lingo you will learn.:thumbsup2
