I'd vote for the second one. I like the 3-D effect and the color.

Oh, sorry, thought this was a poll. ;) :D

I was just trying out a new transparency method which was supposed to remove the edge speckles better and I don't really see any difference. The emboss effect with shadow still enhances stray pixels on edges. I will still have to remove them by hand. Lucky me! :)

I've noticed that changing file format often generates a lot of stray pixels at the color transitions. I've been using PSP 7 more recently for transparency. If the background (and it's associated strays) is different enough from any of the other colors in the image, I've found that the "tolerance" that you can set for color match really comes in handy.

That's precicly when it happens. I learned a long time ago that the "standard #00FF00 green" normaly used in manual transparencies does not meld well into format swaps. Dropping from millions of colors to 256 tends to make all of the edges some shade of green. I've learned to use a fill of #FFFFFE or #000001 and after the color/format drop, go in and remove convert the #FFFFFE to #00FF00 and then just clean up any strays. It saves a whole bunch of time in the end.

I also have 6 image editors though......none of them are perfect.

Yep, I know the feeling. I'm getting quite an assortment as well as I've found that there isn't one that does everything that I want it to do. There have been occasions where I felt like I spent more time swapping between them than I did working in them.

<font color=navy>Shoot, I don't even go through all of that, and come out with great transparent clippies.

I just send mine to the Cricket, and say "pretty please." :D

Mary Jo, sounds like you have the best method of all. Much less stress that way and a lot cheaper!! :D
