T-shirt design question

I have tried to find an answer to this question, so I apologize ahead of time if the answer has been addresses. We are wanting to do family T-shirts with some Disney characters incorporated into names. We have bought out own T-shirts, but we are having aproblem finding a screen printer provider to do the shirts because they believe the designs are copyrighted. How are people able to do the things shown on the forum if that's true about the copyright? Please help.

of course it is true about the copyrights... DISigners anticipate that DISers are doing DIY projects and using iron on transfers that you print yourself. much info in stickys
