Some 3 yr olds would thrive on watching the noisy dinosaurs. Others would be terrified. All depends on the kid. I would find a you tube video of the restaurant and show it to the kid and see how he reacts.
Yes, it's a fun place to eat. Owned by the same people as Rainforest Cafe so the menus are similar. Not a 5-star restaurant, but not too bad.
It can be loud and the dinasours are big plus they have a metor shower with lightning. Any of these could scare a young child.
It is a cool place, we sit in the bar area with the kid, no wait and less noise.
I believe the food is ok to bad and very over priced, eaten there twice.
Last time we just got an appitzer at bar and a kids meal.
It depends on the child. When we went my kids were 6 and 5. My 6 year son LOVED it however my 5 year old daughter was so terrified she couldn't eat her meal.
As PP's have said, there is a meteor shower every 15 min or so and at that time all the dinosaurs "come to life". It is LOUD and lots of roars. There is also a 15 foot
(I'm guessing) trex in the front that you have to pass to get to your table.
If your child is into dinosaurs then it's THE place to go
Oh and as far as the food, it's not great but not terrible either. I would probably compare it to an applebees or chilis.
