I have Amazon gift cards stockpiled and the plan was to use those to buy a gift card to pay for a meal during our mother-daughter Disney trip next August. The only ones I can seem to find on Amazon are for either T-Rex, which we've never been to, or Rainforest Cafe, that we've been to several times both at Disney and in Niagara Falls.

If you had to pick between those two, which would you pick?
Based on food?
Based on atmosphere/experience?

Or should I just save the Amazon gift cards for something else? LOL
Thanks for any input.

I like the dinosaur theme better, but like a couple of the combos (shrimp combo, or ribs/steak/shrimp combo) that rainforest offers that Trex doesn't. Even though we like the menu a little more at Rainforest, we go to TRex more often.

I’d choose RF, you can book thru Open Table
( either Disney springs or at AK) so no worries about plan changes/fees etc. such as ADR’s.
We think the food options are better and overall, just enjoy it more... unless perhaps ur kiddo is very young or dinosaur obsessed, lol than trex might be a better choice.
Have fun wherever you choose.

She'll be 19 at the time - but does like dinos. LOL

I would go for Dino! Still good food, and a different experience than one you've had multiple times. The dinosaurs are pretty dang cool.

As others have said, it’s virtually the same restaurant with different theming. I didn’t find either one to be excessively loud.
I’d vote to go to the one you’ve never been to just for a new experience unless you have no plans to go to Disney Springs. (I wouldn’t make a special trip just to eat at T-Rex.)
Enjoy whichever you decide!

I like them both, although if it is a party of adults, the atmosphere at rainforest is nice if you can get a table on the water outside. I really enjoy that.

For either place, be sure to get a landry's VIP card. It puts you to the front of the line, so you don't need to worry about ADRs, you can just eat there whenever you want to.

Could you use the amazon cards for an everyday staple, like trash bags or laundry soap, and then use the money budgeted for those items on a nice meal at any restaraunt you choose? You could even get the discounted disney gift cards from Sams to save a bit.

I think the decor in Trex is pretty cool. If you havent gone you should check it out. I had their nachos when I went and the platter was huge! Tasty but huge!

Nachos with my hand for comparison. Hah. I loved them. Not sure how well eating them will go now that I have braces.

While I don't have many positives to say about the food at either location, we had an amazing experience a few years ago with our entire family at Rainforest. The server went above and beyond in making us have an amazing experience.

We prefer TRex. There are RFCs all over the place (but only one other TRex), and while we're not talking about 5-star food at either one, we've found the food at TRex to be noticeably better. We've also had better service.

TRex gets my vote....I don't think I've ever had a good meal at ANY Rainforest to b honest

My husband said T-Rex is a must do for him. Therefore, we have a reservation for our upcoming trip in January. Disappointingly, we could only get an 8pm appt.

Get a landrys card. Walk up. You can get in whenever that way usually.

I find it amusing that some complain that TRex is loud....hello, RFC isnt exactly quiet either!
Since you've been to RFC many times and never been to TRex, i'd do TRex. The atmosphere is a lot of fun and we've always liked the food. Sure its loud, but you'd expect that from a place that has an "ice room" that comes to life. With that theme, there's just no way to make it quiet.
