Am thinking of trying the new T-Rex restaurant, we saw it in Oct & the theming looked great but we did nt try eating there.
Has anyone tried eating there, what did you think?:confused3

In comparison to the Rainforest Cafe would you say its worth trying or that RF is better

Thanks for your advice :goodvibes

My family and I thought it was "just ok." Expensive, mediocre food. The scenery was fun, but that was about it. I think it's worth going at least once, but I don't see myself ever going back. As for comparison to RFC, I don't think I can help much. I've only eaten at RFC once and that was when I was a kid, so I do not remember much. I hear it's pretty comparable, though, and that T-Rex is just a RFC with dinosaurs.

Both restaurants are owned by the same company, so I would expect the food would be about the same as the RFC.....BAD. But I'm going there latter this month anyway!!

We went 2 weeks ago and DS7 loved it. It is very loud though and it's hard to carry on a conversation. DS loved the Build-a-Dino at the end of the meal too. Food is pretty much the same fare as RFC. I personally prefer the theming of RFC but it was something different so it was worth a try.

We're excited to try this in June no matter the reviews.:goodvibes The dining experience sounds AWESOME, and it's hard to screw up burgers, pizza, or pasta:wizard:

FYI, to anyone interested, TRex will start taking reservations starting tomorrow, Jan 5th! You have to call the restaurant directly.

We were not too impressed with T Rex, the theming is nice (kids really enjoyed it) But did not think the food was much to talk about, we probably won't return for a while. We do like RFC slightly more.

Can I get :offtopic: for one minute and ask if they take AAA discount? Does anyone know? I've just made my reservation for April. :cool1:

did trex replace rfc at dtd?

No, it's down by the McDonalds.

I've been twice - I'm glad I went and I thought the food was very good (but overpriced). Don't miss the frozen mojito - YUMMY!! However, I have to agree with the PP, it is very, very loud (especially during the meteor shower) and quite honestly, I would rather put that much money towards a meal at Kona's or Portafino if I'm not eating in the park.

(another slightly off-topic comment - if you enjoy Rainforest, I would heartily recommend the breakfast at the RFC at Animal Kingdom - it's a do not miss for our family!)

I asked if they offered a AAA discount and was told no. The 2 RFCs by me do so I thought maybe they would.

Give them a little time. I called to ask if they accept the Club Card Rainforest Cafe has and currently no, but they will in a few weeks. This allows you certain benefits, discounts and priority seating.

We thought the food was very good (better than RFC) but it is very expensive. It cost $60 for just the two of us and I only had one alcohlic drink...which was amazing.
