T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe?

We want to eat dinner in Downtown Disney one of the days we're there in April and I'm trying to pick between T-Rex and Rainforest. We'll have 6 adults (me, hubby, my parents, in-laws) and our 2 kids who will be 3 years old and 10 months old when we go. We want something fun for the kids but I've never been to either of these restaurants so I'm wondering which one is better. Any help would be great! Which is more fun? How is the food? Any pics of the food and atmosphere? Thanks!

We went to T-Rex this past July trip and we all loved it ...good food.....good atmosphere....here are some pics....
I have been to Rainforest near my hometown and it was 'ok' food....good atmosphere there too though! If your kiddos like Dinosaurs I would say go for T-Rex!

For me, T-Rex hands down. We all loved it! It thrilled my 2 kids to no end, plus dh and I thought the food AND atmosphere was much better than Rainforest Cafe.

I dont if you helped OP decide but thanks you help me decide..been to RF before and your pics look like Trex is so much fun especially for my 2 boys.

Reading these boards it is really a matter of preference. Both restaurants have animatronic figures that come to life occasionally - either for a rain storm or a meteor shower. Both are highly decorated. My wife and I cam away thinking the menu selection was better at RFC. (Not that either place is fine dining.) But I can see how some would prefer T-Rex.

One note - it can be loud in either place. We took our daughter when she had just turned three. We were seated next to some animals. At first she didn't want to be near them but by the end of the meal I had to trade seats with her so she could be right next to the elephant.

Also, when you decide, call the restaurant directly. You will have better options on times.

Been to both a couple of times and prefer T-Rex. Even though the same company owns both, I found the food to be much better at T-Rex. DD9 prefers the scenery at RFC. I think with a 3y.o. boy I'd got to T-Rex. My nephew was obsessed with dinos at that age.

T-Rex! We've been to both, Rainforest Cafe more and believe T-Rex is much better themed. Plus, there are only two T-Rex restuarants DTD and Kansas City. You would have a better chance to get to a Rainforest Cafe than the Rainforest Cafe.

T-Rex is the better of the two...RF is good but wow T Rex is just more fun. You can even build-a-dinosaur (not free lol) ..but I thought it was the best restaurant in DTD for my son and I. Oh and food is good..there hamburgers..deeelicious. and the fish tacos...yum~~!

Neither as far as food goes. If you normally dine at nicer restaurants you will be disappointed. To me Bongo's is far better.

Thanks everyone! We're going to go with T-Rex then. If the food is pretty good and the atmosphere is great it sounds like the place for us.
Thanks for the pics too! It looks like fun and I think my 3 year old will like digging in the skeletons of the dinosaurs.

We have been to and love them both but I think I would give a slight edge to T-Rex. I might feel this way though because it is still new to me. As for menus, I find them to be very similar.
