T-Rex chances?

I actually have reservations made at T Rex on the 29th of August at 3:30 PM. When we booked my parents were coming and we needed earlier times for them to get back to the hotel and rest after dinner. Now things have changed and they are no longer coming. I really wanted to change my reservation to even a 430 dinner as opposed to the earlier 330. So far I've checked about five out of six days to see if there's an opening but nothing yet. Is there a chance that something will come up? How often should I be looking?

If you ever want to eat at Trex or Rainforest, the number one rule is don't book through the Disney system. Call the restaurant directly. You will find that they have plenty of availability for almost any date and time you need.

What happens is the two restaurants only release a very small number of tables to Disney to book, so on the Disney site you will see those restaurants showing fully booked months an advance. However, they really aren't. It's only that the small allotment they give to Disney to book are filled up. They keep most of their tables available for booking directly through them. It's a little known Disney secret. You can almost always get a table at either place up to a few weeks before your date if you just call the restaurant directly.

I did a walk up on this past Wednesday at 6pm. There were 3 of us plus an infant, no dining plan. It was a 15 minute wait

Thank you so much for the tip. I called yesterday and was able to switch my 3:30 Disney booking to a 4:30 directly through the restaurant. Its not a huge change, but since we are coming from AK that day I didn't want to be really rushed, and we are planning to tour downtown Disney after dinner if the kids are up for it.

We went last Thursday without an ADR. We were a party of 7 and were seated in about 10 minutes. This was around 5:00 pm.
