Hi all you fans, happy to report that the sign says they will open on 10/14/2008. DH and I were at DTD on Sunday 9/28 and saw the sign. Most of the fence is gone and the place looks great. Unfortunatley, I didn't have my camera, so no pictures.

From what I understand they won't be for at least the first month. Our waitress at RFC asked the manager, since we are now members of the Safari Club and get first available seating with our membership card, they will only be taking walk-ups for that time.

T-Rex has notified other posters who have asked directly that they will not begin taking reservations until sometime in January 2009. Walkups only for 2008.

Jumping in to ask, do they serve only dinner, or is there also lunch? I will be there in January with the kids and I know that DS would love it there.

Thanks,

Barb

Thanks for the heads-up!!!! My family is so excited about eating at T-Rex (skipping Rainforest this time so we can experience T-Rex) when we go in December!:cool1:

What is the T-rex cafe? We were at DTD a month ago and I don't remember seeing signs for it but I do remember them having a wall where there was construction going on. Is this run by the Rainforest cafe? Thanks, Linda :)

It is next to the McDonald's and the bridge to Pleasure island from the Marketplace. It is not hard to miss with the huge Dinosaur skeletons in the front. It is a Dinosaur themed restaurant owned and operated by Landry's, who also owns and operates RFC. The food is very similar at both restaurants, most just hae different names.

Thanks for the info. I'm assuming this isn't a restaurant on the ddp? Linda :)

We have a trip planned for 11/30/08-12/07/08 & I called today to pay off my trip. The Disney rep/Haley (very nice & intelligent lady) asked if I needed to also make any ADR's. I told her that I had them booked & I asked if I could make an ADR for T-Rex Cafe since it opens this month. She stated there are no ADR's at T-Rex, it is kind of like counter service (similar to Cosmic Rays) is the feeling I got. I googled some photos of the restaurant & found a some at this link:

I hope you guys get a kick out of them like I did !!!!!
59 days & counting !!!! Woo Hoo !!!!:santa: :santa: :santa:

No, it is not a CS restaurant. It is a TS restaurant very similar to RFC except for the Dinosaur theming, instead of the elephants and gorillas

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

in 3 weeks , we will be on the plabe.. flying across the atlantic to disney and poly!

We are planning on T-Rex to be on our last day of our stay. Figure we can hit DTD for any of thost last minute items we (cough I) might need/want. LOL

DD is really looking forward to it all. She loves dinos and the build-a-dino will be great fun too. She will be bringing her build-a-bear cheetah, Rose with us to sleep with at night. So Rose can come home with a new friend. :thumbsup2

My mom was at Downtown Disney yesterday and she saw the TRex Cafe. She said it looked really neat. She also said it looked like the store and Build a Dino were open already, but she wasn't sure.
