T-Rex and spitting DDP credits with OOP?

I think I read somewhere that at T-Rex, if you're on the DDP they require that everyone at the table use a dining credit, but I can't find that thread anywhere. Is that true, or am I remembering incorrectly?

My family wants to eat there, and we'll be on the DDP, but I would probably just order an appetizer--which would be a total waste of a dining credit. Does anyone know if they will allow me to just pay OOP for my meal but use DDP credits for the other three people in my party?

I know most Disney restaurants will allow you to do this, but T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe are independently owned, and as such follow their own rules for DDP allowances.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered elsewhere! Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

You should be fine ordering just an appetizer. Ive done that and had no issues. What they dont allow is if there are 4 of you, and you order 5 meals on the DP (with the intent to pay for a guest who is not on the plan).

I remember reading that as well, although I can't recall if it was T-Rex or another restaurant at DTD. However, I think it depended on the server since it's only been mentioned a couple of times and doesn't seem to be a standard policy at the restaurant. If it is an SOP it would probably be mentioned on the boards regularly much like the limitations when using the dining plan at Via Napoli.

We ate at TRex in Sept 2010 and didn't have problems doing just that. We used dining credits for DH, DS, and DD's meals but paid out of pocket for my steak and cheese sub.
