Has anyone heard anything about this restaurant. I read that it's opening in Downtown Disney early 2008. I'm wondering if anyone has any info about when it would be opening, I know my daughter would love this place.

TIA for any help,
Erin

We were just in DTD the on Wed and they banner said opening in 2009...looks like they just broke ground on the area.

The first one opened here in Kansas City not too long ago so we went a few weeks ago since DS is such a big dinosaur fan. It was quite cool. Very interesting decor but it is LOUD! Much louder than the Rainforest Cafe to me. DS even thought it was a bit too loud which is saying a lot considering he is a very noisy 5 year old boy. DD 2 was pretty scared since the dinosaurs can be very intimidating. She did fine through the meal with constant reassurance that they were just "silly" dinosaurs and not mean ones. ;) The food was decent and expensive but since it is basically just another RC that didn't suprise me. Overall we had a good time and I am sure we will be back in the future. I think it will make a great addition to DTD.

It's really easy to find info on it since it's a chain. They do have a website but I don't know it off hand. Just do a google search.

Go to Google search and put in t rex restaurant then find you tube and there are several videos of the place
Really looks great but I can see why it would be loud

sounds like a better version of RFC (food-wise)

looking forward to trying it during our '09 disney trip!

We were just at DD today and saw the area it is going into (right next to McDonalds.) It is causing traffic flow re-routing there. The banner said open 2008 today.

The one here in Kansas City (Hi neighbor Becka!) is the only other one in the country! I think that's kinda cool. And while we've never been, it does sound and look really neat! DS is still a little young but when we walk by it at the outdoor shopping center it's in, he loves to roar at the fossils! I think it'll do really well in Orlando. BUT, we also have a Rainforest Cafe here as well. Too bad Orlando's becoming more like Kansas City....:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Denice! We are actually in Columbia but we end up in Kansas City a few times a year since we had good friends there. I know what you mean about the younger kids. We went because DS 5 is a big dinosaur fan and the RC is his favorite restaurant. He had a great time. DD 2 was a bit scared but she did OK as long as we constantly reassured her that they were just "silly" dinosaurs. ;)

I finally got some pictures of the T-Rex cafe uploaded and thought I would share them here. The pictures of the inside do not really do the place justice and I wished they had turned out better but here is at least a little preview.

I'm not much for chain restaurants but this one looks pretty cool. I wonder how the food will be. On par with somewhere like RC, I suspect.

Yes, the food at the one in Kansas City was very similar to Rainforest. It was about the same price range also. I know they serve a lot of pizzas along with the normal Rainforest-type food. Our food was good when we visited, but the atmosphere was great!
