Day 11 – Mon June 3rd

This day will be another down day. It actually might be the downest day we have had so far because I have only made one firm plan for the day.

I know we will get up in the morning and have breakfast in the room. We will head down to the pool when it opens at 10am to find a good spot and we will spend most of the morning at the pool.

We will break for lunch and probably head over to EPCOT for a counter service meal. I love that EPCOT is so close! We may run over and grab FPs for Soarin if the opening time is not too late. Then we will probably head back up to the room for some R&R. By this point in the trip DH & DS will be looking forward to just laying around and watching some TV. I will be looking forward to sitting on the balcony and reading.

We have dinner reservation at 6:55pm here:

So I am hoping that we can time the Soarin FPs so that we can make our way through EPCOT, ride Soarin and then hop on the monorail and take it to the Contemporary.

Since we will be at the Contemporary anyway I hope to finish dinner in time to hop on the monorail to the poly and watch this from the beach:

The reason I want to watch it from the poly instead of the contemporary is because it goes by the Poly about an hour before it goes by the contemporary. We then plan to hop in a cab and head back to BC. We have an early morning breakfast reservation and do not want DS to get to bed too late.

Day 12 – Tues June 4th

This day will be our 2nd Magic Kingdom day. I know for some people that will be hard to imagine since we have already been at Disney for 11 days. The bottom line is that Magic Kingdom is just not our favorite park.

We have early breakfast reservations for here:

So we will arrive at the gate by 7:45am. I want to get some of those nice pictures of the Castle without crowds before we head over for our 8:30am breakfast.

The last time we ate at Crystal Palace was in 2008 so I am excited to spend time with some of my favorite characters first thing this morning.

This breakfast will make me wish my DD was with us because this guy is her favorite:

After breakfast, we will head here:

And then here:

After we get DSs two favorite MK attractions out of the way I think we will spend the rest of the day visiting attractions that we didn’t make it to earlier in the trip or have never made time for on previous shorter trips:

Believe it or not we have only been on this once:

We have never been on this:

We will not want to miss this since we did not get to see it earlier in the week.

Before we leave tomorrow land I will try to talk DS into going on this:

I would like him to try some of the bigger rides while it is just DH, him and I on this trip. Our trip in September includes two cousins that have already ridden this and I do not want him to experience the peer pressure on that trip to try this for the first time.

As we head over to Fantasyland we will take a minute to ride this(Again something we did not get to on our first MK day):

Then we will watch one of my favorites:

Up next one of DSs favorites that always seems to get bumped on shorter trips:

We will probably break for lunch now. We plan to eat some where we have never tried before:

After lunch I will try to talk DS into going on this. He has gone on it before when he was little but does not have fond memories of this ride:

Next up, a few more things we have never done:

Then an old favorite:

Jungle Cruise by Disneyalwaysn4ever, on Flickr

After the cruise we will hop on the Railroad at the Frontier station and take it back to Fantasy Land. If it is time for dinner we will head over to here for a bite to eat:

After dinner the plan is to let DS ride Buzz as many times as he wants and then head back to the resort.

If it is early enough we will probably spend some time in the pool and then roast marshmallows and watch the movie on the beach.

We will also be at HS on June 2nd! We are not going to try to do anything but Star Wars stuff though. As for the MK, we go on day 2, then not again until day 10! DH has a problem with that, so our day 8 break day might be a MK day too! Of course, with park hoppers, we could always go over there one afternoon...It is so hard to decide how many times to go to each park! We have 11 days, and people say, how can that not be enough time? HA!

I agree, there is no amount of time that is enough time. We will have Annual Passes so there may be down days when we hop over to a park for a couple of hours that were not planned. I am very interested in how my TR compares to my PTR when we get back.

Time to Shop!

photo[1] by Disneyalwaysn4ever, on Flickr

It’s 76 days until our vacation so I decided it is time to start shopping. The first thing I went looking for is new shoes. I prefer to wear flip flops when we go to the park but need to have really comfortable ones. I looked at a lot of shoes and finally decided to buy an old favorite.

Teva Mush:

teva mush by Disneyalwaysn4ever, on Flickr

I got 4 pair. The three in the picture above and a plain black pair. I first discovered these shoes in 2010 and loved them. However, Teva changed the design the next year and introduced Teva Mush II. They had a lot of new patterns so I eagerly bought two pair for our 2011 trip. I hated them! The new design was horrible and they were no longer good for spending full days walking the parks. The good news is that lots of people complained and Teva brought back the original mush in 2012. So I was able to buy two pair for our 2012 trip(they only brought back 2 patterns at first). I was very happy to find out that there are now 6 patterns to choose from.

Woohoo!! Shopping! I was just starting to think about shoes. So, flipflops in the park works for you? I'm trying to decide what to do and I don't have any of those Teva's, although my mom and sister love them. Good for all day, huh?

I love Teva Mush. I have never tried any other pair of Tevas. I have no problem wearing them in the parks and we tend to be there from opening to close.

Thank you! Will it say "original" in the description?

Edited: Ok, I'm seeing sandals that just say mush and others that say mush II. I think I answered my own question. :)

We took a two week trip in 2010. I felt like we missed all kinds of things. lol. I could give you a pretty lengthy list of all the attractions we haven't done yet. :rotfl:
I know what you mean about the days...we had a tough time with that also. And we did make a lot of changes on the fly during that trip. :thumbsup2 The crowds at MK drive DH nuts, so we didn't spend nearly enough time there, in my opinion.
Good Luck with your plans! Sounds like a wonderful trip to me!!

Hmmm, wonder if I would like those. I'm in the market for some sandals too, but I'm very picky. They can NOT feel like I'm standing FLAT. I need a bit of a heel or some sort of arch support. They don't have to be "soft" exactly, just not as flat as most feel.
I'm always scared to buy online when I've never tried shoes on, I figure I'll be stuck sending them back.
I may have to see what stores carry these so I can try them. I usually like ones with a but of a wedge heel, but since these have a substantial sole on them, I might like them. It's worth a shot! :thumbsup2

(Forgot to quote this comment) But, I agree, it will be fun to see how many of our plans actually fit our final trip. We had a good number of adjustments last time. I wonder if it will be the same again!
I doubt you'll change much on your DHS days! You've got them pretty mapped out and they're gonna have to be, to fit in all those character ops! :woohoo:

The big thing I love about Teva Mush is the fact that they form to your foot. I have a huge arch and after wearing them a couple of days my shoes have a huge arch. They even recommend that you not allow others to wear them(my daughter wears my same size and will take my shoes sometimes - I do not allow her to touch my Mush:rotfl:.

I do type the word original when I am searching for them. The best place to see what is out there is the official Teva site. Once you know what is available you can look for them on other sites.

Day 13 Wed June 5th

Today is supposed to be another down day and if my DH asks that is exactly what it is:ssst:

However, just between you and me I think it will really end up being a catch all day. I reviewed all my plans this weekend and identified the attractions we do not have plans for at each park. Then I organized them into a maybe and definitely no category. I would love to know if any of our maybes are on your must do list.

Magic Kingdom:

Maybe:
Dream Along with Mickey
Enchanted Tiki Room
Liberty Square Riverboat
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
Celebrate the Magic
A Dream Come True Parade

No:
Enchanted Tales with Belle - We will do this for the first time on our September trip with my Niece
Stitch's Great Escape! did this one last year and even DS said it was lame

Hollywood Studios:

Maybe:
American Idol Experience I think my DH would enjoy this but it might bore DS?
Great Movie Ride
Muppet Vision 3D
One Man's Dream
Sounds Dangerous not even sure when this is open????
Studios Backlot Tour
Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun

No:
Beauty and the Beast We will do this in September with my niece
Fantasmic! We have seen this in the past and are just not a big fan
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith We would love to do this but it is not worth riding solo and no way DS is going on it
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror I will try my best to get DS on this one but do not hold out much hope
Voyage of the Little Mermaid again this is a September item for my niece

EPCOT:

Maybe:
Circle of Life
Living with the Land

No:
Nothing for the EPCOT no list

Animal Kingdom:

Maybe:
Rafiki's Planet Watch this will move to the Yes list if there is a character over there I want to see

No:
Boneyard I may cave on this one but honestly it feels a lot like playgrounds we have at home
Expedition Everest another one we would love to do but probably wont talk DS into
Finding Nemo - The Musical We did this in 2009 and it was just too long for DS to sit through

I would love any feedback on any attractions that are not definitely planned for us that you think are must dos.

We also have a couple of firm plans for this day. DS has plans to go back to the Sandle Castle club and DS and I plan to eat dinner here:

IMG_1713 by Disneyalwaysn4ever, on Flickr

We actually ate here during out 2011 trip and I enjoyed the Crab Legs. I think I ate three lbs on my own! Since the Sand Castle club opens at 4:30 and our dinner reservations are not until 8pm DH and I may run over to DHS and try to ride RnR and ToT(if I can time it right I will try to pick up FPs at some time during the day for one of these with an opening time sometime between 5-7pm)

I highlighted the ones I like best.
Don't know why, but I have always loved Great Movie Ride. And it seems like I notice something new every time.
Muppets are just fun. :goodvibes
I have no explanation for Living with the Land, but we always put that one on our list. Just unique, I guess.
I LOVED Finding Nemo. I wouldn't miss that one.
I didn't bother highlighting the coasters since you've got a legitimate reason to avoid them, but they would be on my "don't miss" list otherwise! :woohoo:

And that's probably my problem with most sandles. I have no arches. I wear an insole in my tennis shoes most of the time, or use a shoe with a bit of a heel. I have a feeling these won't work for me. Bummer. They are really cute.

Thanks for the feedback. It should not be hard for us to add Great Movie Ride and Muppets to the list since we have three Hollywood Studio days:cool1:. We will also add Living with the land because we have never done it before and will be at EPCOT for atleast a little while almost every day since it is just a 5 minute walk from our room. I don't see us adding Finding Nemo since we only plan to do one day at AK and it is a 45 minute show. For us, that is a one time deal I think:goodvibes

I know what you mean. Both my sons have flat feet. I am always on the look out for good shoes for my youngest. He really has a hard time walking through the parks because he feet start to ache very quickly.
