Swollen Glands???

This past weekend I had no voice. My throat was not really sore, but I was just not able to talk. Well, today I woke up to a strange feeling in my throat. Tonight, my throat feels like some one punched me in it. Not sure how else to describe it. Any idea whaty what this can be?

Hi, I had the exact same thing last weekend. Saturday night my throat was a little scratchy..not sore though. On sunday, I couldn't talk at all.I mean I had no voice. By monday, I started not feeling great. I know exactly what you mean by the feeling that someone hit you in the throat. That's exactly how I felt...right on the adam's apple although I don't know if women have an adam's apple. I also felt it on both sides of my throat. Later on that day I also had a headache. anyway.....I went to the doctor and had a strep test. I did not have strep...just a virus. It lasted 4 days! I actually was off work for 3 days....I have never had 3 sick days!!!! Anyway, a week later I'm feeling better but my throat still hurts a bit when I talk a lot or sing. So, I hope you feel better.

Gosh Thank you BVC4us!! Yes, I was going to say that my adam's apple felt like it had been punched, but I do not think women have adam's apples. So glad to know that someone else has been feeling this way. I am thinking that it is a virus. I am sure that I will be fine in a few days. DH told me that I need more sleep, but I do not think he is going to be getting up to feed the baby at 2 am. I will hope that the baby has a good night tonight and only wakes up once.
