My dh is building our deck for the back of the camper. For those of you that have these setups, my question is--do you have to have a certian type of license plate for these? since its not actually another trailer? Thanks

Jill

I took the plate off my 5er and put it on the SW.

What are you going to haul on it

LONE-STAR is correct, as long as it is an extension of your trailer, it uses the same plate. If it has a hitch and moves independently of the trailer, it has to have it's own plate.

we will use it to haul our golf cart. For the deck, he took the bumper off and somehow welded it to the frame of the camper added some(3) reciever hitch thingys. Done some other things i dont understand. He has alot of it made. We are waiting for the wheel assembly things. He ordered those from doublehitch. I think it will be pretty good!

I almost built my own but the place where they build the swivel wheel is only 60 miles from my house. So I just bought the single wheel model from them. I haul a gas golf cart on mine. After your DH finishes it let me know how it works. We have had some issues with ours.

Are there any factors that he can try to fix before hand while building this? From what he has explained to me it sounds like it will be ok. I felt better knowing he was putting 2 wheels on it to help with the weight. we have a gas cart, but its lifted with the extra back seat/bed. So I was relieved knowing the wheels will carry most of this weight.

The problem I had was that it changed my pin weight to much and it made me sway. I added 400 lbs. of weight to my hitch and this helped alot. After I found I had this problem I called the manuf. and they said this could happen if you have a small 5er. Well I have a small 5er 28' and only weights 4500 lbs. no slides. plus my pin weight was very lite. So if your trailer is bigger I dought you will have a problem. My cart is also lifted. post pics if you can

our camper is 33 or 34 ft long and has 2 slides for some reason i was thinking its around 11000 lbs ish? I dont know for sure, I dont pay attention to that stuff lol. Its been a while since i posted a pic, i know there used to be a place on here that said, i will try to look it up!
