Switching rooms - Studio to 1BR

If I were to book a Sat. night in Studio at OKW, then a Sun-Fri in a 1BR at OKW, what could I expect during room switch?

Any chance it would be pretty seamless? As in, 1Br fairly close to the studio? Or maybe even getting the 1br before 4pm?

Any stories (horror or good) regarding switching?

We did a switch last November from a 1 bed to a 2 bed. Seamless depends on your definition. But I thought so, we did have to check out of the 1 bedroom and have our luggage stored until we were able to get into our new room. Trying to book it close by the other room, well it truly wouldn't matter since your not able to take your luggage from one room to the other, at least they wanted us to bring everything down to bell services. Overall it was very easy...bell services came up and grabbed our luggage and food and stored them until the new room was ready and brought everything to us......in the meantime we hung out a Epcot.

You will have to check out before 11 AM from the studio. Your one bedroom may or may not be available until after 4PM. It also may or may not be close to your studio.

We went the opposite way last November. We were on the second floor. Packed up all of our stuff in the car. Drove to check out on the way to the parks. We were told that our studio was already ready. Guess what, it was the lock off next door to our original 1 BR. Back we went, shlepped up all of our stuff AND THEN went off to the parks. SOOOOO.... have all your stuff ready to go, but go down or call and ask where you will be moving to before you go through the same hassle we did. You MIGHT be pleasantly surprised at the distance you have to move. (It could go the other way, too.) But it doesn't hurt to ask.

Two years ago, we switched from a studio at BW to a 1Bdrm. Got up in the am, put on our bathing suits; checked out of the studio; bell services held our luggage; we went to the pool for the day; by the 3:30pm we were checked into our 1Bdrm. It was no where near our studio but didn't matter to us! Was very easy.
