Switching resorts?

This trip we will stay one night at the Coronado, then switch the next day to POFQ. Should I assume that we won't be able to check in there until after 3:00? Should we leave our luggage, go on to the parks, then show up at the new resort after 3:00 sometime to check in? Or do we need to head on over to the POFQ right when we check out before heading to the parks? I have no experience with switching resorts!

You don't have to wait until 3pm to check in, but you room may not be ready.

Do you want Disney to move your luggage for you ? If so, when you're ready to leave Coronado, call Bell Services & tell them you want your luggage transfered. They'll come to your room and tag the luggage, and you'll get a receipt. When you get in your room at POFQ, call Bell Services, give them the number on your receipt and have them bring the luggage to your new room.
They transfer luggage between 1pm and 3pm.

I am SOOO glad someone posted this thread! I'll be transferring from ASMo to WL and was fearful of having to take my luggage around on the bus!! I'm glad that they provide this service!!

You can't take your luggage on the bus with you. Drivers don't allow it.
Just call bell services the first thing in the morning, tell them you need your bags picked up at such and such time (as early as possible). Tell them the bags are going to 'xyz' resort. They will tag them and take them away. And they will expect a tip.
The one thing to remember is that it can take the better part of the day to get the bags at the next resort. You won't see them again until at least 4:00, perhaps later. So, plan accordingly.
What I do is get rid of my luggage by 7:00 am, then I head to a park for the morning. Then, just before lunch I hop on the bus that's headed to my new resort. I checkin, sometimes been able to get right into my room, and if not, go off and get a bite to eat. Then continue with my day.
