Hi! I'm sorry for starting a couple of threads recently!

We will be staying at AoA for the first few days of our trip and then a villa at Wilderness Lodge.

I don't want to waste a morning transferring hotels. Is there anyway to have our luggage moved and checked in to the new hotel while we visit a park? If not, is there any transportation to move from park to park aside from busses? I don't think taking all our suitcases, stroller and two three year olds will be fun!

Finally, do we need cars seats for the DME?

Thanks!

We do this frequently (split stay). On the morning of your switch, simply leave your luggage with bell services and tell them which resort you are moving to. They will move your stuff for you. Then go off to a park for the day and some time after check-in time, go to the new resort, check in, and call for your luggage. Just be aware that you won't have access to your luggage for most of the day, so anything you may need during that day (such as medications) you should carry with you.

As you can see by my signature we love doing split stays. We have done the split stays since DD3 was a baby and what works for us is to be organized. For example, I put clothes for all of us is each bag, bag #1 is for the first half of our stay and bag #2 is for our second half. Then, I bring a 3rd bag for the miscellaneous stuff that we might need for both stays and voila! We are organized and we only have one bag to pack when we move to the next resort. I also bring laundry/trash bags for our laundry and put the laundry on the #1 bag when we head home as that is usually the bag that's most empty at the end of our trip. Also if the airline loses one of your bags :scared1: it's not a big deal, since, you have clothes for everyone in the other bag until you get your "misplaced" bag. You can just call bell services when you are ready to checkout and they will transfer the bags for you. They can also store perishables in the refrigerator, just make sure to tell them and they will give you a receipt that will say refrigerator on it. I bring a collapsible cooler with us for this, but, have also given them grocery bags without any problem.

And no, you don't need a carseat for ME...

:goodvibes

I'm a lover of split stays as well! Just a note that I've been told a couple times that luggage is not moved from resort to resort until around 4pm. As a PP said, make sure you have what you want with you for the day. Other than that, it's easy and a great way to see more than one resort :)
