I need some advice. We are going to Disney the 3rd week of May. We have decided to stay at the Grand Floridian 2 nights and Animal Kingdom 2 nights. Has anyone ever done this bfore, is it a pain We just have been so many times we thought we'd try something new. Any advice would be helpful :D

Poohbear,

I think it all depends on your style of travel/packing. Does it bother you to pack everything up and get it to the car (will you have a car?)? We love to switch resorts. In fact, this June we start at Wilderness Lodge for 6 nights, move to the Swan for 3 nights, move to AKL for 6 nights, then back to the Swan for 4 nights. As you can see, I think it's well worth the small hassle to change resorts. Here is how my family does it--

On the morning of the move, We get up around 8:00 and I do express check-out so as not to have to go to the front desk. After checking the bill left on the door, we literally throw everything into the suitcases and call bell services to come get the bags. My wife waits with the bags while I go to self-parking to get the van. Usually, my wife and kids are waiting at the front door with the bags by the time I pull the car around. Then, ask the bellman for directions to the next resort, and we're off. At the next resort, we store the bags with bell services, stop by the front desk to check-in, get some breakfast at the resort (you should do BOMA after checking-in), and then it's off to the parks until 2 or 3 at which time the new room should be ready for your return and inspection.

Doing this, we find swapping resorts to be a great experience. It's almost as if we have a new vacation with each move. I hope this helps you, and i hope you give it a try :p

Thanks so much for the encouraging words, I think we will try it. Thats also what we thought about the whole new vacation thing it keeps things exiting for us veterans LOL Who knows mabey we will stay 5 nights instead of 4 :D thanks again!!!;)

PoohBear,
A few years back, we couldn't get a full week at the GF, so we stayed for night there and 3 nights at Boardwalk. I really liked it because it felt like we were on 2 different vacations. I saw a whole different side of Disney that I didn't know existed. We always stayed at the GF. Now this time we are staying at the Yacht Club because we enjoyed the area so much that time.

We saw that they had a beautiful pool, and it was fun taking the boat to MGM and walking to Epcot.
