Switching from Room Only to rented DVC points - will I lose my existing park reservations?

I'm sorry.. I know this has been asked, but I wasn't able to find the answer via search... thanks for letting me ask again!

I currently booked a RO reservation at Coronado Springs. Bought tickets separately. All linked in MDE. Have my parks reserved... there is currently no availability at 2 of the parks I have reserved.

I'm thinking of switching to a rented DVC points stay instead.

What will happen to my park reservations?

I *think* I would rent the points (it's a confirmed booking), add that to MDE. THEN cancel my room-only reservation and everything will be okay?

Or will my park reservations be removed and I'll have to try to get new ones (which are currently unavailable)

Follow your plan - link the DVC ressie to MDE, then cancel the room-only, and you’ll be fine!
