This question has probably been asked a thousand times – sorry. :p

I am gonna make it 1001 times now!! :rotfl:

Okay, here it is – If I book a “Room Only” reservation can I change it to a “Vacation Package” later. The vacation package I would have to make a deposit of 200.00 within 14 days – and I am getting 2 rooms – that it’ll make it $400 deposit.

If I do the Room Only - all I need to pay is one night deposit of $87 – making it only $174 deposit for both rooms. :bitelip:

Or do I do the ‘Room Only’ and add the tickets later – does that make it a package? :confused3

I would love to take advantage of the Disney’s Photo pass Certificate which is only afford with the packages. :flower:

What is your opinion ? :smooth:

It might depend on if you can switch the room only to a pkg. I think each code is different - the recent postcard code will allow a pkg but you have to book directly through WDW Travel Co and not all the CM's at CRO knew this when I called. The price kept coming up very high and I asked if she would please check with guest services as I knew it was bumping up my code to rack rate. Sure enough, she was very nice and found out that it needs to be booked in special code letters for a pkg. On top of that, once the room only is booked it cannot be upgraded to a pkg and the deposit could not be switched (although one CRO CM told me it was tricky but could be done). So it needs to be booked as a pkg - at least with the latest postcard code.

Hope this made sense!!!

So what you are saying is i should best do the package?

I use to do it all separatly but the package is no different in price this year.

This is not until Dec. - if i get a postcard code with a cheaper price than i originally booked can i call to get the new lower price?

If you book a pkg and then get a postcard code you may not be able to get the lesser price and there might be a fee to make changes. I would suggest using one of the recommended Disney Specialist TA's as they will know the lastest information and could give you the best advice on how and when to book.

Personally, I would book room only and then if a code comes out try to get the lesser price and see if it can be upgraded to a pkg - if it can't at least then you could rebook a new pkg and not lose any money.

It would be a lot easier to know it's in the hands of a quaified Disney TA. They can be found here on DIS on www.allearsnet.com and www.mousesavers.com

Happy planning!
