Swimming

It depends on which hotel your staying, in the disney hotels they can use both.
They off site hotels have different rules some say speedos some say trunks, maybe others no which hotel wants what.

I know the Explorers has now adopted the policy of only allowing speedos but as juttawdw said swim trunks are fine at the Disney hotels. Phew!

The Sequoia Lodge swimming pool is in doors so no need for sun protection.

Wow!! I'm glad someone posted this, I wouldn't have even though to consider my DH might need different swimwear. Luckily the only place we'll be swimming will be at our DLP hotel, so it sounds like we're all set there :)

Also has an outdoor pool like the HNY, depends on time of year as to whether or not it's open

Yes, I'll be there in July, so I assume outdoor pools will be in operation...

It comes down to the weather, I have been in September and the outdoor part was open as it was sunny & warm but have also been in June and its not been open. The SL pool is shaded by tall trees so depending on when you swim you should be fine without rash vests, the sun hits the pool in the morning more.

Just a word of advice there is no shallow part in the pools.

As an addition, the Explorers Hotel was quite rigorous in its swimming apparel policy. However, they do have a speedo's vending machine at the pool entrance for those unaware of 'The Rules'
