Has anyone done this at Chankabaub? How much does it cost as opposed to the DCL excursion?

How much is the sea lion show itself?

DCL don't offer the sealion swim just the show and snorkel i think, check out the chankanaab website for prices, i'm sure they were lower than dcl

I booked the Sea Lion Swim directly @ www.dolphindiscovery.com

The price of the Sea Lion Excursion is $59 p/p. Entrance to the park is separate - which is $10 p/p.

The taxi ride there should be about $10.

As someone that works in an aquarium, I would not do the sealion swim. They bite. I was quite surprised to see this offered. They are usually gentle, but they can become aggressive. Although extremly unusual, I know trainers that work with them everyday that have been bit. I was just surprised that this would be offered to the public. I would suggest the dolphin swim instead.

Hi:
We did the swimming with the sea lions last month, and it was the best experience, for all of us, DH,DD and DS; and my kids are only 5 and 6 y/o. One of the trainers helped my kids inside the pool. We had the experience with Pingo (the father), the mother, and Luna (the baby). Luna is just 9 months old and it was her first show. We got there early and they offered us the experience, I guess they didnt have enough reservations. We did the dolphin encounter in the Bahamas last year and this was much better.
Hope you have a great time at the park, is beautiful and the people that work there are friendly.

I did this and it was lots of fun! I hadn't booked it in advance, but I happened to notice it when we went over there on our own and booked it that day.
The first sea lion they were supposed to use didn't want any part of it. They switched to another, and she was very patient with our petting, oooing and ahhhing.

I did this with my dd age 5 and we had a blast! It was the best and then decided to do the swim. It was well worth the $59.00! We got the video so we could show everyone at home, I think it was around $20.00. :hyper:

What happened to my post? Only part of it came out? Anyways, we went to the park to see the Sea Lion Show and ended up doing the swim! It was a great experience. My dd thought it was awesome. We swam with Nena and she was very sweet and gently. She loved to give "kisses" on the lips. (Fish breath!)
