Oops... should have put this question on the Orlando area section! Can a mod move it when able?!?

We are traveling to Orlando in Sept. and our friend is a competitive swimmer (hopes to be in the Olympics next summer... has qualified so far). We will be there a week and she needs a place to do her thing; we will be staying at the Beach Club and I am unsure that the quiet pools will be large enough for her to do thing. Or another resort?

Are there any pools in the surrounding areas or any advice that I can reccomend to her? I believe her coach was going to look into it also, but I don't want it to be too far because of the driving issue (being that we will be all in my van and I'm funny about letting non-family members drive around in case there was a wreck and then a lawsuit (yeah, I know I'm weird)).

Perhaps a YMCA pool or public pool? Thanks!

I think there's someone on the DVC board who can answer your question....I remember the same issue came up a year ago or so. Maybe it was Fitzswimmer??? You could pm and ask. Good luck!!!

There's a YMCA in Winter Garden that's about 25 minutes from WDW that has designated lap swim times. I don't know if they'll take day-rate athletes. http://www.centralfloridaymca.org

There's also a world-class competitive training center in Clermont about 35 minutes from WDW. I know that they accept athletes on a per diem rate as opposed to requiring a membership. http://www.usantc.com
