Booked the 2nd-3rd week of December at Coronado....what's chances that swimming is possible? I'm sure it's still in the 70's-80's temp wise....but has anyone used the pool during an average December?TIA!

We were at WDW Dec.17-27 last year and went swimming a few times. I thought it was a little too chilly to do it once the sun was starting to set. It was great in the afternoon though. We had wonderful, warm weather for most of our trip. It does get super cold in Orlando at times so you really don't know what to expect. You have to make sure you bring all types of clothing when you travel there in the winter.

We swam almost every day in December. It's getting out of the pool that's miserable. We brought a robe for our DS, but we shivered on the run back. there was a cool breeze that day though.

My kids always swim in the pools in December no matter what the temperature is outside. They just don't want to get out when it's cold.

I love to go in the hot tub on a cold day.

The weather in December is very unpredictable. We've been twice during December. Our first December trip we had temps in the 30s/40s, but our second trip was warmer with 70-80 degree temps. With that said, I would pack for both warm and cold weather just to be safe. Have a great trip :wizard:.

I've been many times in December. Some times, it's nice and kind of warm. I'm a wimp - if it's not above 80, no way would I even put on a swimsuit. Kids, whatever! One time, I sat by the pool at the Boardwalk Villas, watched them keep going down the slide. Steam coming off the pool. I'm in jeans and a sweater. One or two other kids in the pool. Finally I said I'm freaking cold, let's go in! LOL!

Honestly, now it's mostly DD and me going to the parks, and we at MOST do one swim time. Last trip, we didn't swim. Most spring break trips, we bring a suit, but don't even bother.

I'd say bring a suit, doesn't take up much suitcase space, but there have been many trips in December where I was freezing. We've had trips where it was down into the 30's at night. You just don't know.

I am assuming my kids will be in the pool when we go in dec. I believe all the pools are heated so as long as they stay in they will be happy.

More than likely my wife and I will relax close by at the pool bar - nice warm and dry.

Yep.

And late Fall leading into Winter as well.

I've been 5 times in December. 4 out of the 5 trips were swimming weather. The other trip was hats and mittens weather! Florida has seen above average December temps for a few years now, so if that trend continues you'll be swimming. My cold trip was back in 2012. 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015 were hot hot and hot.

We were there Dec 9-14 last year and swam every day. The best time seemed to be mod-afternoon, between 1:00-4:00. That's when the days were at their warmest.

The highs can be anywhere from the mid 50s to the mid 80s so it really just depends how comfortable it will be to swim.

Yup! Our most recent December trip in 2015 wasn't cold at all - perfect for swimming & lounging by the pool. No jackets - even at night. Loved it!!

We have been to WDW several times in December, and the weather has never been a problem. The past two years, the temperatures have been in the 80s-90s!

We went 2nd week in December in 2016, and the 1st week in April this year and thought it was colder, for swimming, in April! It's the wind that gets ya. You get out of that warmed pool and that cool air hits you and you wanna die a little. Pack the trunks, they don't take up much room in the suitcase, and if the weather is right - cannonball!!

We swam every day of our December trip including once at night. We are from the north so love anytime we can get in a pool outside of summer!

Pack a swimsuit and see how you feel when you get there. We are staying at CBR in December and my wife and I aren't getting in, but my kids might. The pools being heated helps until you get out. But, I think it depends on where you are from LOL. I'm from the Panhandle and I won't put a toe in the water if the weather hasn't been consistently 80 degrees or higher. I've been on cruises where people are swimming in the water like it's nothing while me and wife are blue and shivering!

My sister went with her family Thanksgiving week one year and they froze their butts off every day. I arrived for my solo trip the very next week (first week of December) and it was hot as blazes all week and I was able to use the pool.

Where do you live? When we lived in Massachusetts, we'd go to WDW in November and be swimming while those southern CMs would sit there in their heavy jackets looking at us like we were crazy. Now we live in deep southern Texas, and we've to WDW at the same time of year, wearing our heavy jackets, watching those crazy Northerners in the pool. So where you live makes a difference.

We went December 2015 and it was so cold. There were mornings it was 40 degrees, the night we did the party we were all in gloves and hats and under blankets. Were from VA so we know what cold weather feels like. I think its hard to plan for swimming in FL during those months because you never know what you'll get. Our next trip will probably be December again and I'm really hoping we get warmer weather like 60/70 and not freezing.
