Is swimming in early April at WDW a given or can it still be too chilly?
Thanks!

You can most definately go swimming in April. Even if the sir is a bit chilly (but probably not) most of the pools are heated.

Thanks. But can it be chilly to the point it is very uncomfortable to go swimming despite the pools being heated?

I have been going in Spring for the past 22 years. In April the temps are great. Cold is not an issue. The weather is almost perfect. In fact it can get very hot.

Thanks. I have been in late May, but never early April. So shorts all the way? Would we need jackets for night and/or pants?

Is it that hot in that we will be using our trusty water fans? :sunny:

Swimming at night possible, too? Or am I pushing it here? ;)

we went last April the first week and the weather was around 75 -80 the first few days I felt it was too cold for my kids to go swimming. we wore jackets in the morning and at night. but shorts during the day. they did swim 2 of the days thepool was warm but they felt cold when they got out.

I think this was unseasonally cool for early April though

We were there this past April, during the third week. I never even thought of putting on a jacket, or sweater in the morning or night. The pool was great, people were in it at night, although we did not use it at night. My DW on the other hand gets cool very easily, and wore a sweater most mornings and nights. But she is cold unless it is 80. The kids had no qualms about getting in the pool, loved the water.

April is a wonderful time to swim. There was a never a day in the 3rd week of April that we couldn't swim. In fact one day, the pool wasn't really cooling us off because it was so warm (it was heated)

My kids were in every minute we let them.

We always go the 1st week of April every year for Spring Break. You can swim at anytime of the day or night. We swim a lot during the night time hours because there are less people around. I think we have needed a jacket maybe one night the past 4 or 5 early April's that we have gone. But there is no question that you can swim whenever you like during April.

We went the first week of April this year and we had a few days that were quite chilly. We did go to the pool, but IMO, it was too cold to be comfortable. At night we were in jackets and jeans, so it was definitely too cold for swimming, but on the way back from Illuminations one evening (we stayed at the YC), there were a few hardy souls in the pool (they must've been from the north!) :teeth:

We were there 4/7 - 4/15 and swam every day except the last 2.. We come from one of the coldest places in the nation so anything above 70 is very warm to us!

We were at WDW 4/20 - 4/29 and swam everyday. We spent most of our visit at the water parks. However, during earlier part of the month they had some colder days. But in general April should be fine for most people.

We've swam in December and didn't feel the slightest chill. However, this was in the afternoon and in the evening it did get chilly.

April should be perfect!

It may depend on where you are from.

We're from NY, so April in Florida is like our June. We swam day and night this April when we were there.

People from the south may have found it chilly at night or early mornings.

Karen

We have been in the pools in December and January. The sun is warm and so are the pools. April is a definite pool month.
