Yeah!! I booked at the WL over Christmas yesterday and we have never been there in the winter before. Is it possible to swim/mouseboat, etc. in December?

It just depends on the weather. We went one year at Christmas and it was very warm. The pool was crowded. Another year the temp was like 50 degrees during the day and it was just too chilly to get in the water. Pack a swimsuit just in case. You never know. Here's hoping for warm weather this year. :sunny:

when we went last year it was crazy. it was in the upper 80's the whole week. so i would definately pack the swimsuits !!

It really depends. We do get some cold weather her in FL from time to time. But it usually just lasts a few days. So if you stay a whole week, chances are there will be a couple warm days. Tipically we get a cold front that lasts a few days then it is warm again for a few days before the next front comes through. There are exceptions where it stays cold or warm, but on average you have at least a 50% chance of getting in the pool.

Are the mouseboats in use then? I can't wait!!! We didn't have another trip planned for a long time and somehow I was able to work it out. :cool1:

We were there early Dec. 2004 at BC and it was really too cold to swim, most of the time-especially in Stormalong Bay. One of the other pools was warmer. It did seem to vary day by day. Some days it was nice and warm, next day, seemed 10 degrees cooler. During that trip it was in the 40's in the evening and not much warm in the day. We wore our thermals alot. However, we did swim several times-it's my DD fav thing.

This Jan. we stayed at Pop Century in the 50's bldg. and oh boy was it cold! We still swam a few times but getting out was verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry brisk!

So that being said, it depends on how badly you want to swim, and oh yeah, jacuzzi-ing even when it's cold is great.

56 days and counting

We took our then 5 and 8 yr old niece and nephew to the WL in Dec. 2001. They swam every day and again every night. The pools there are heated, BUT, it can get chilly when getting out of the pool so be sure to bring robes or plenty of big towels down with you to the pool.

Have a great trip! The WL is GORGEOUS during Christmastime. You couldn't have picked a better resort.

Thanks for the answers everyone! We were at the VWL this summer and I didn't think I would want to go back anytime soon, but when the Christmas trip came up I pondered all of the resort themes and decided on the WL for the decorations and overall feel. Just bought our airline tickets today and will now start the fun of deciding on restaurants! :cool1:
