Okay I am checking out the website for the Nick Hotel and I am concerned about pools so I go to their FAQ about Pools and I read this:

"Does the Nick Hotel have a policy regarding swim pants?

Yes. All children under 4 years old must wear a protective swim pant while in our pools. Please do your part in ensuring that the pool remains open and safe for everyone to enjoy. Our goal is to provide a fun and safe atmosphere for everyone at our resort."

Do they really enforce this?

My youngest hasn't worn a diaper since she was 18 months old but she'll be just shy of 3 in May. We are also considering next December and she'll still be under 4 then.

In May I could see I could slip the diaper by her, she's still pretty accomdating but when she's 3.5 and hasn't worn a diaper in close to 2 years she will be upset I am sure!

Anyone else have experience?

A lot of places have this rule. I am not sure how well they enforce it at the Nick Hotel though. I was at an indoor waterpark a little while back and they made a family leave that refused to use the "swim diaper" on their toddler (looked close to 3).

Hopefully someon can give you some insight on this rule.

I just wanted to add-- my sister found a great swimsuit (very cute) at Gymboree 2 years ago for my neice (then 2) that had a built in swim diaper. She was potty trained- but this meet all those requirements and I guess it was there just in case. This may be an option too.

Thanks for the info about the swimsuit idea. I didn't know they had those.

If we go in May it really shouldn't be that big of a deal unless my oldest tells her its a diaper! But in December it might be an issue.

I don't want to break any rules but I also don't want to make her wear a diaper if she doesn't need one.

I'm not sure if the Nick Hotel is right for us just yet. It is very expensive and my kids are so young I don't think they can enjoy the pool as much as they could if they were older and other than Dora and Blue's they don't watch the other shows that seem to be popular.

We might just go visit Scooby over at the Hard Rock.

Thanks again for the info. It is good to know since I am sure I will come across this problem somewhere else!
