SWEET SIXTEEN :Have they been kissed? PTR: Updated 8/15

I just realized that there was a question about AKV room locations and that is actually something I know quite a bit about! :goodvibes

I agree with what Marv wrote, but wanted to add that Zebra trail has another advantage as well: This is where the Mara (CS restaurant) and the pool are. So if you want easy access to refill your mugs, Zebra trail is ideal: just take the elevator down, walk a few steps (you need to go outside) and there you are.

Another thing which I really like about AKL is that it does not have as many bus stops to get to the parks as some of the other resorts: only at Kidani and then at Jambo and then it is off to the park.

Thanks for the input !!!Christine I am leaning more towards AKL with all our Dis friends ( including Marv) input !!The Zebra Trail and the closeness to a cs sounds great AND the bus sounds pretty good too !!!

I loved my AKL stay...but...one complaint I've heard about the buses since Kadani opened is that buses now stop there first, then Jambo (the main lodge, where we would be) and that the buses are often full or no seats. That would not be fun! BUT it would be great having Mara nearby. ::yes::

LOVE the description of Mara, location in Africa etc.

BWV and BC do not have a CS at all. :( Of course there is that place called EPCOT very handy!!!!! :rotfl:

(I'm still torn!!! We know wherever we wind up is where we are meant to be and it will be fabulous!!! :goodvibes )

Patiently waiting for pics of Samantha's big day!:thumbsup2

BW and BC don't have typical counter service places, but BC has a nice selection of sandwiches and soups and stuff in their main gift shop/general store. You can also get to go orders at beaches and cream, and there is the snack bar at the pool that has some sandwich type meals.

Over at BW they have some stands out on the boardwalk. I know they have a place that has corn dogs and other "carnival food", but they only take cash....no room charges or dining plan. I think I remember seeing a pizza by the slice place (?). I don't remember if the sweet shoppe serves any food or just ice cream and candy.

And of course, like you said, there's that quaint little place called epcot just down the way!

Also, if you are renting points (for a studio or larger?) you will have some kitchen space. If you're in a studio I think it's a mini fridge and a microwave, but larger you have a full size fridge, stove and microwave. Cooking is never on my agenda on vacation, but it's handy to make some toast in the morning, or have some sandwich stuff or snacks around when you don't want to use the energy to go back out.

You mean Glenn tried to ride the zebras; hey Glennbo, we want ALL the escapades included in the TR!!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Heard about Glenn and the zebras and had to come check out what craziness was going on.

Decided yes, but as women we hold the right to change our minds - right? :goodvibes

Oh, BTW, congrats to Samantha!!

I have yet to have a problem with the buses being that crowded. Of course I am typically at Kidani, but have also stopped and had breakfast at Mara then gotten back on the bus. Of course I'm sure there are times of the day when "most" of the crowd are heading to the parks, and coming back from the parks when that could be a problem. I am not usually one of that herd who are typically arriving at the parks when I'm leaving, or heading out when I'm coming back for a relaxing evening after an afternoon break and dip in the pool.

Glenn? Silenced? NEVAAAHHHH!!!

Okay, okay...calm down people. I'm not too concerned over these viscious zebra rumors, but I heard from the zebras and they're really ticked.

Rosie, you would've made a great nun!

As far as room location at Jambo House, I have to agree with Marv and Magdalene -- Zebra Trail. You have Arusha savanna, Uzima savanna, the Mara, and the pool, all on that side of the resort. :thumbsup2

I am sure both Glenn and Marv do!!But my "torpedoing is hard to top!! Even a wild ride on a zebra doesn't top that!!:rotfl2:

Marv You have me confused I can't tell if you are coming or going (to the parks):lmao:

True to your word Glenn broke silence:rotfl2:

First why wood the zebras be ticked, to have one of us infamous Dissers on their back shood be an honor:rotfl2:

Thanks for all the incouragement about AKL !!I am sold , how about you Christine !!!:cloud9::banana:

I'm just glad silence is ALL he broke...... :rolleyes1

What I'm saying Rosie is if you go early for rope drop, head out for an afternoon break, and go back in a park for dinner or maybe fireworks, and hang around after until the masses all try to leave at the same time, you don't have to worry about the buses being crowded. If you are one of those who sleeps in, heads into the parks around 10 or 11 and tries to stay until exhaustion like so many uninformed nonDiser's do, then yes you will probably be part of the herd on crowded buses....

That is much more understandable Marv!!!;) Yes I agree the few times we have left with the mass exodus , we end up waiting and standing, but if you expect it then you aren't mad like sooo many of those Non Dissers!!!:rotfl2:

What else did you think Glenn might break?? Never mind I'll use my clean and pure imagination!!!Remember Glenn said I would make a good Nun!!!:rotfl2:

Who says it was?

Just be thankful you're in another state.

That reminds me -- in that Disney song from "Pocohontas", "Can you paint with all the colors of the wind"....I never sing "paint".

Couldn't resist !!

 Tanya!

I've stayed at all of the resorts (deluxe gal most of my 30 yrs of Disney stays.;)), but I like the way you made the options so clear for Rosie - I hadn't thought of doing that. :goodvibes Thank you! :thumbsup2

Yes, pizza by the slice on the Boardwalk. Oh, and I'd forgotten about the corn dogs!

The Boardwalk area is not my favorite - I love an MK Resort on the monorial - but for a December trip, being walking distance to EPCOT is just about the best! I can't wait for Rosie to experience the stroll through International Gateway to/from our resort. Oh, wait...does Rosie EVER stroll??? :rotfl:

Good Evening :goodvibesRosie
