I didn't want a huge fancy party although my parents said I could
There's this amazing hotel around here though five stars awesome pool etc
I booked two rooms and had my closest (girl) friends over.
We went to the hotel's returant for dinner, then went swimming in the pool, wandered around the hotel, had a dance party (ipod speakers) brought tons of food/sodas etc and ordered more room service than we could eat. We left the hotel around 2 the next day.
It was a lot more fun and lasted a lot longer than an average sweet 16 it's one of my favorite memories.
I'm almost 18 now if that matters at all.
It just depends on what you want...big party or small.

My parents rented a room at a local restaurant place and threw me a surprise Disney themed sweet 16. It was lots of fun.

My friend Desiree had a 50's/black & pink themed party.

I haven't turned 16 yet, but my birthday is in September as well!
I have a party booked at a resturant with a ballroom. It's going to be about 150 people, so I guess it's big. I'm going with a hollywood theme. I have a red runner (like a red carpet) and my cousins are going to pretend to be poparazzi and take pics of the guest when they walk in. I'm requesting that people don't wear black because I am.

I'm sorry, I feel like I kinda hijacked your thread, but I hope this helps! What did you have in mind for your party? Like, did you want a lot of friends and a party-party, or just a few friends and maybe go out to dinner for the night? Both parties are totally fun!!!

well im 14 and my boyfriend is 16 so hes taken me to alot of his friends parties.
and they have had like elegant ballroom parties. hollywood parties. luals(sp)/ those are some options. like we got there and there was like 300 ppl in the ballroom place and we just danced and had an aweseom time!!! hope that helps. sory im not 16

My best Friend and I both have birthdays in the same month.. and we both happened to not have parties for our 15 birthdays (idk.. we both didn't feel like throwing one)

so we got together and we had a big beach party. It was a lot of fun! all sorts of people were there, it wasn't just our one big group of band friends.. so it was cool!

I'm super jealous. That's wanted I wanted to do rather than a party but my parents wouldn't go for it. Have Fun!!!

I had a small party with my friends and family.
We met up at my favorite chinese restaurant, we ate and sang happy birthday[the people at the restaurant gave me free cake], so by then I was stuffed. We went back to the house to eat my cake though[I never pass up free cake haha]. So the gift bags were in chinese take out boxes, but they were pink and blue polka dots. I had those little twirly things you tape to the ceiling you get from party stores, and a sweet sixteen balloon. I bought a cinderella's castle plastic backdrop from a party store. I guess my party didn't really have much of a set theme, just chinese food/disneyworld. I bought an ice cream cone piñata, but it was raining so we broke it in the house. Then we watched a goofy movie and danced to the parachute express song at the beginning of the movie
It was pretty fun, and then the week after me and my best friend and fellow disney addict went to Disney World for a few days as my main birthday present from my parents.
