Sweet 16 celebrated with Mickey & Pals-9 days of TiW dining: Completed 6/14

I just came back to check for recent updates and realised that, for some reason, although I'd read your review of Captain's grille, I hadn't commented and I couldn't think why that would be. Until I remembered....the pictures looked that good that I rusehd off to Allears to check out the menu and completely forgot to reply to your review :rotfl:

Thanks for the review anyway, as a result we have just added (yet another) restaurant to our plans for August. I hope you are nearly done as I really can't fit anything else in now ;)

Thanks for all the reviews! I just read them all and can't wait to see the rest!!

you have me trying to figure out how to add more breakfast options to my itinerary!! Unfortunately hubby is not a breakfast fan so I don't want to over-do him!!

I'm currently torn between HBD and 50's PT for our full DHS day. Thinking will stick with 50's PT as HBD just looks too heavy for lunch.

Hi Brenda! I noticed the link to this review in your signature, so I thought I would check it out. And I'm so glad I did! I'm all caught up and absolutely love all your reviews :goodvibes Looking forward to more!

Captain's Grille looks really good! I never thought of trying it but that might have to change! I'm glad they redeemed themselves! :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear that Captain's Grille has redeemed itself!

I'm glad I gave it another chance! It is a great non-character option!

I'm now hooked on your review!! We did Kona last year so I did not put it our our schedule. But now, that might all change!! We did the eggs ben & have yet to try those sweet breakfasts. They look: :cloud9:

We are doing a split stay AOA & SSR & I was wondering about TC. Thanks for the honest review. I'm glad I'm not booking it! w/ DTD across the water, we have many choices.

I have to tell you LTT used to be my fav. but our last trip the hostess was rude to many people, including myself. Our server never came around,to fix issues or refill drinks.Never got extra napkins we asked for for our DS1. & never celebrated my parents anniversary. + There was NO strawberry dressing on my salad![& server nowhere to be found] The entire reason why I LOVED dinner there. I didn't complain b/c we had the very merry Christmas party & didn't want to spoil the mood. Tis year LTT is off our list. They need to get it together there.

Wow the grilled chicken looks awesome @ TD!!!
I loved my meal @ CG @ dinner a few years ago. Scallops. I don't think they have it anymore, but dinner was very good!

Can't wait to read more!!

Thanks for reading. Wow.... LTT has really started to have some negative reviews. Based on their updated menu I'm having a hard time justifying dining there for anything other than the toffee cake!

Wow, I had no idea there was a buffet at Captain's Grille. I assumed it was a CS location for some reason.:confused3 The food looks really good there and the price is definitely right.:thumbsup2 I will have to keep that in mind for my next trip. Thanks so much for the great review and pics! :goodvibes

Welcome jerseytink! Captain's Grill really did have a great selection of choices - definitely something for everyone.

What a great looking breakfast buffet!
:)

happy2012

I agree that the food at Capt. Grille looks yummy. We might have to try this one in Nov. also. Although, at this rate we will be eating & not doing anything else.

Regarding LTT, like Happy2012, this used to be a must do for our family of 6, until the 2 visits ago. The service was poor, the food was not hot, or that tasty. But, we decided to give it another shot the following visit, and will NOT be giving it another chance. I had 2 drinks spilled on me. TWO! Our waiter barely apologized. The second time he made it seem like it was my fault. :confused3 I guess I shouldn't have been sitting leaning to the right as he reached to put my drink left side. :confused3 then after all that, the food wasn't that great. not warm....again. Plus, he started to drop one of the dishes ( i forget which one) on my youngest daughter. Spilling food all over my plate. hahaha really is laughable. My kids were horrified. They are always saying to me & my DH not to say anything, or send anything back, they would be embarrassed. This time they were like.... you should talk to the manager. We didn't. Live and learn. The waiter maybe had things on his mind that were more important than my meal. Who knows.

Wow! Your LTT waiter definitely had some issues. He should have had a manager over to make things right after the first spill. Errrr... that annoys me that he would even hint something is a guests fault. After this visit we may take it off the rotation for our list. I don't want to pay Disney prices for mediocre fod and lack of service.

I think we ALL had the same service @ LTT.:lmao:
It's so disappointing to hear this happens so often. I crave that strawberry dressing but it's not enough after these reviews.:confused3

So sad... You would think Disney would be held to a standard that reflects their being a world class destination. I guess when you have the tables filled service may not be a top priority anymore. :confused3

Glad I could be of assistance with your dining choices! :thumbsup2 I have the same problem since almost all of my ADRs are based on dining reviews - one more and I will need to extend my vacation! :rotfl2:

Thanks for reading! It is nice of you to consider your DH....I think my DH likes breakfast as much as me so no conflict there. Actually, for our August trip, it will be the 1st time in 6 years that DH will be going with us so we'll see if he is as excited about all my choices.

Well, hi there PrincessBetsy for whom I'm a big fan of your dining review!! :cheer2: Thanks for clicking on the link!

Captain's Grille looks really good! I never thought of trying it but that might have to change! I'm glad they redeemed themselves! :goodvibes

Me too!! :hippie: See? Reading dining reviews causes frustration and confusion on which ADR to fit where since you only have so many meals to plan! :flower3:

I will be posting Le Cellier next. I need to get a few more posted this weekend since I am traveling for business next week to one of my favorite states - CT. :drive:

After spending the morning touring Epcot, we checked in for our 1:40pm lunch ADR at Le Cellier outside near the walkway for the Victoria Garden. We proceeded to the restaurant where they were running behind so we waited 15-20 minutes. We had a nice chat with the hostess in the meantime. There were several parties inquiring as to walk-up seating for which there was none available.

A little before 2pm we were seated in Richard’s section at a table for 4. We loved Richard – he was very charming and attentive. I asked him if he was tired of hearing people say, “you’re from Canada, eh?” He chuckled but I think he really was tired of hearing it! ;)

We have never deviated from our favorites at this place so we really didn’t need to look at a menu. Heck, when you find an awesome thing, why try something else? :woohoo:

I ordered a cup of the cheddar bacon soup and we both requested the mushroom filets cooked medium-rare. The famous pretzel breadsticks were delivered to the table with butter. We really didn’t touch any of the sourdough since we respect the sacred pretzel bread exclusively! The cheddar bacon soup arrived shortly and Em decided that she didn’t really want any. Oh darn! I had to eat all of that soup myself! It was tangy good. The pretzel bread with butter was HEAVEN! I could have made a meal out of it with the soup.

The petite filet was served with wild mushroom risotto and white truffle butter sauce. Once again, this was amazing!!! There isn’t anything that they could have done to make this a better entrée. I think the entire dish was gone in 60 seconds! Although Em didn’t finish her meal, I kept myself from finishing off her filet as well.

Happy girls with our filets!

My photos never do this dish justice. It is so much better than the picture!

Richard asked Em if she preferred to don a peacock suit and dance on the table or have a song & candle on her crème brulee to commemorate her birthday. She chose the candle on the dessert. The dessert was served with a white chocolate Happy Birthday with a maple leaf candy garnish. I passed on dessert, I know, GASP, but I did have a few bites of Em’s crème brulee.

The bill was $71.37 with $13.83 in TiW discount. We continue to really enjoy this restaurant and look forward to it every visit.

So happy this is so respected in service & quality. We are trying it for the first time this fall.

Hey, is it just me or... does your DD & Richard the waiter make a very nice looking couple. :rolleyes1 I guess at 16 she wouldn't be interested in that.

So happy to see another great Le Cellier review!! We have it booked in September, and I cannot wait to try the soup, pretzel bread, and mushroom filet!!:cool1:

LC really consistently delivers quality food & service. We have not been disappointed in 4 visits!

Actually, Richard was adorable if I wasn't old enough to be his mother I might have flirted some! :scratchin Em has a nice young man that has been courting her for some time.

MMMmmm... Another tantalizing Le Cellier review!

How is one supposed to make choices!?!?!

I know huh? Makes it hard to decide. :)

Yay! I'm so happy that Le Cellier was a hit once again - great pics, as usual. :)

Thanks! And we'll be back in August. :thumbsup2

You will not be disappointed! Those choices are some of my all time favorites at WDW. So so so very gooooood!

YAY! My whole family is soooo looking forward to our lunch at LeCellier! We had dinner there several years ago (I think it was 2006) long before the the signature change. I still remember my yummy mushroom filet, but I think DH and DKs ordered wrong, so nothing stands out for them. This time I hope we all order correctly! Your review is getting us even more excited!

I am interrupting this dining review for a brief snack intermission! I am now obsessed with a lovely little goodie from this place.....

No thanks to all you people out there who posted reviews/photos of the carrot cake cookies (you know who you are!) I tried it once last trip and now I must confess that I am now an addict!

Before we headed over to EPCOT for our Le Cellier lunch I had to stop in Beverly Sunset - where I get my carrot cake cookie fix.

Here's some selections of their goodies:

And this is what I would fight anyone for should it be the last cookie in the case!!!!!

Picture worthy cookie!

The food hoarder in me bought this to eat later since I wasn't hungry when we stopped in at Beverly Sunset and I carried it around ALL day! I finally enjoyed it later that night! It was so worth it!

Now back to my regularly scheduled dining review. :moped:

Hopefully LC will be a hite for your DH and kids. Since it became a Signature restaurant I haven't had any desire to go for dinner since I prefer the smaller filet for lunch. :lovestruc Glad I can help keep the excitement going! ;)

That Carrot Cake Cookie is HUGE! I must try one! I thought they were available at Writer's Stop? Is Beverly Sunset connected, or is it at both?

TIA!

I've read so many great reviews of LC lately! The first time we were on the dining plan we ate at LC and we've eaten there every time since then. We're going in August and it'll be the first time we don't have an ADR there and that makes me sad because DD and I LOVE the mushroom filet. However we're subbing in Cali Grill for the first time and I have a feeling we'll love it as well!

And I think it's about time I try one of those carrot cake cookies too. They look fantastic! Great reviews as always!

Great reviews.

I want to try Le Cellier again for lunch when we go next year and also have LTT on the list too.

It really seems to be hit and miss as to whether you catch the servers at each restaurant on a good or bad day and it seems to really impact on all our experiences.

Really want to try that carrot cake cookie too, mmmm :)

Yes - it is huge! More like a meal than a snack
All the mention of these cookies like you noted are from Writer's Stop by Sci Fi but I get mine at Beverly Sunset which is on the Sunset "street" going towards ToT. It is on the left side as you are going towards ToT not far from Starring Rolls. They sells these at both locations.

I love love love carrot cake cookies! Such a good treat :cloud9:

Aha, another carrot cake cookie lover! So Yum!

Loving your reviews! I remember your last one, so glad you are doing more!

Why thanks! My apologies if it seems like this is a re-run from last time....We only added 5 new restaurants to 25 meals we ate. :rolleyes1

But... I want to continue to highlight the good ones! :dance3:

I think Cali Grill is a wonderful sub for LC!!! It will be a totally different feel. If I had to chose between the two it would be CG! :cloud9:

Thanks for reading Lisa. You are so right about the servers affecting the experience...I'm glad most of ours have been wonderful. :)
