We are back from our first Disney Cruise!! Overall we had a great time with a few exceptions courtesy of our 20 month old....

We flew to Long Beach on Sun May 25th. Arrived at the airport arond noon. Stopped to pick up some family and made it to the port around 130p. Parking did not seem to be a problem, there was a shuttle that took you after dropping off your bags. We waited in line maybe 10 minutes and then it was time to board. It was so fun hearing our name announced and walking into that beautiful lobby. We rushed the bags to our room-Cat 4 family suite on deck 8. Room was nice and there was a pull down couch for the 4 year old and a pack and play for the little one. We brought wine on board in a soft sided rolling cooler with no issue.

We then rushed to the Mickey pool for the Dis Meet. I was on the late side but did get to meet with many of the frequent posters.

The sail away party was fun-loved the colorful streamers and the dance party. There is a cool little gazebo to the left of the stage where my 4 year old danced. The little one napped during the festivities.

We had 530p dinner and Lumiere's was our first restraunt. Our servers were Sonny and Mae and they were fantastic. The kids menu was a bit limited-my 4 yr old does not eat pizza, mac and cheese (unless it is nasty kraft) burgers. Both kids liked the chicken and fries. They did not do the cool catsup mickey head on the side plate-I was a bit disappointed. I mostly had the beef selection at each meal. The food overall was good-better than I can cook-which is not saying much but not great. The Mickey bars were a BIG hit-can only get them in the dining room and from room service.

After dinner we registered the big one for the Kids CLub. The line was HURRENDOUS. We had completed the forms online but the pager line was huge. They only had 2 people passing them out. We also went and checked out the nursery-cute but smaller than I had thought.

We did not make it to the Welcome Aboard show-our kids are early to bed early to rise types. The beds were comfortable but my 6 foot Dh said his toes hung off the end.

I will try my best to answer any questions. Sorry the pics are so big. I will try and get on later to do more. Landury calls.

Oh, yay! MORE, MORE!!! :) I have been anxiously awaiting a Mexican Riviera report!

BTW -- your girls are DARLING.

Thanks for the nice comments :)
Day 2 was a sea day. Kids were up at 5a :rolleyes1 We had breakfast at Topsiders. My DH did not enjoy the scrambled eggs but the "hash brown" things were yummy. Little one liked the Mickey waffles and the big one has oatmeal every morning. There was an Open House at FLounders's in the morning. I can really not say enough good things about the staff there. Kayleigh and "Chris" spelled wrong I am sure-were superb! Big one went to the Kids Club. Before lunch we went in the Mickey Pool. We had lunch on deck 9 and both kids took long naps.

Since dinner with the little one did not go so well the night before she went to FLounder's from 530-730p. The big one went to the Kids CLub and had dinner with them. We had dinner at An Palate. I found this restraunt to be FREEZING!! It was a quiet dinner. I do not have any notes on the food so it must not have been great.

We went to the 830p showing of the Golden Mickey's. We missed pics with Mickey and Minnie by minutes. My older DD did get to chat with the show host and was on the screen insisde. I got a little teary when I saw her all dressed up in her Minnie costume "chatting" before the show. Great show overall though my older one was a little scared of the "villan" segment.

Off to bed to get ready for Cabo!!

Great trip report so far. I have a question: Since you had AP on the night of the Golden Mickeys, did AP still have the characters go from black/white to color? Or did they save it for another night?

Califchris They did the show the next night.
lvstitch Ah thanks, it is a good thing she is cute cause the 4 year old "attitude" is in full swing!

I'm jealous. There were several mornings I jumped out of bed and scampered up to deck 9 or 10 to snap pictures of the beautiful sunrises that greeted us each day. My DW thought I was crazy. (And she’s right - my iPhoto library is overflowing with sunrises and sunsets.) I failed to capture anything as spectacular as that. Great shot Mary!

Day 3 Cabo San Lucas

Girls slept in a little :worship: We went to Topsider's for breakfast and then walked around a little. We then headed off to meet up for our shore excursion.

We did Nikki Beach escape. We had to tender off the ship.

Big rocks on the way in.

The drive took about 20 min. The resort/hotel was nice. The beach had umbrellas and loungers. The buffet was simple but good. We all went into the ocean-it was not to cold and the girls enjoyed playing in the sand.

Got a good pic of the ship from the beach. Not sure why photoshop took away my blue sky when I cropped the guy's head out.

My Dh did get to do some snorkeling and saw a few fishes.

There was also a pool with a small, shallow pool connected to it. the girls went in but I thought it was cold! My little one actually fell asleep on me on the way back-first time ever. This did result in no nap.

We had the show at An Palate for dinner. It was at the end and the kids had a hard time waiting. It was pretty cool.

We walked around a bit after dinner and all went to bed early.

I found that the trick to avoiding the long restaurant lines was simply to show up 10-15 minutes late. There was no line and you sat down immediately.
