We are back from our first Disney Cruise!! Overall we had a great time with a few exceptions courtesy of our 20 month old....
We flew to Long Beach on Sun May 25th. Arrived at the airport arond noon. Stopped to pick up some family and made it to the port around 130p. Parking did not seem to be a problem, there was a shuttle that took you after dropping off your bags. We waited in line maybe 10 minutes and then it was time to board. It was so fun hearing our name announced and walking into that beautiful lobby. We rushed the bags to our room-Cat 4 family suite on deck 8. Room was nice and there was a pull down couch for the 4 year old and a pack and play for the little one. We brought wine on board in a soft sided rolling cooler with no issue.
We then rushed to the Mickey pool for the Dis Meet. I was on the late side but did get to meet with many of the frequent posters.
The sail away party was fun-loved the colorful streamers and the dance party. There is a cool little gazebo to the left of the stage where my 4 year old danced. The little one napped during the festivities.
We had 530p dinner and Lumiere's was our first restraunt. Our servers were Sonny and Mae and they were fantastic. The kids menu was a bit limited-my 4 yr old does not eat pizza, mac and cheese (unless it is nasty kraft) burgers. Both kids liked the chicken and fries. They did not do the cool catsup mickey head on the side plate-I was a bit disappointed. I mostly had the beef selection at each meal. The food overall was good-better than I can cook-which is not saying much but not great. The Mickey bars were a BIG hit-can only get them in the dining room and from room service.
After dinner we registered the big one for the Kids CLub. The line was HURRENDOUS. We had completed the forms online but the pager line was huge. They only had 2 people passing them out. We also went and checked out the nursery-cute but smaller than I had thought.
We did not make it to the Welcome Aboard show-our kids are early to bed early to rise types. The beds were comfortable but my 6 foot Dh said his toes hung off the end.
all our stuff!
