Having had a fairly recent experience, August 2002 (IMHO) PLEASE Do not flame! We found 1 overall factor, not mentioned on the boards. I had read about the larger beds, quietier, extra sinks, etc..... But 1 minor point to some but major to others (including myself, due to asthma) The swan is a smokers paradise. The 1st floor seems to be a cigar/ cigerette hangout for all, all day, everday. Now anyone into this kinda stuff thats great, & this is the hotel for you, Anyone else I would definately stay at the dolphin, as we did not find this to be the case there. So much so that we did cut our visit there and moved out of the swan in 2 days to the beach club (dolphin unavailable ) for the remaining 10 days of our trip for a considerable cost difference.
There were some other problems on our trip to the swan, housekeeping not what it should be. upon check in we had a dirty tub with used soap in the tub. and dirty towels hanging in bathroom. They did come and clean it when we called. We had a studio suite and virtually no view at all, on the 3rd floor totally covered by trees asked about moving was told "you can call this # daily and see what happens they would not pre-plan a thing, or give any more help than that. We are starwood members and were not happy. Upon our return home, they sent me a "coupon" for 2 nites free, but I really don't think we are interested in using them. We had a second trip planned for 2 weeks in october and we cancelled it and planned it for the poly while we were at the beach club. We had stayed at the dolphin once before but we were so unhappy with the swan, I just wanted to stay away from there.
Anyway, I would reccommend the dolphin, (in case you weren't sure). I had a fabulous RN rate. So its hard to beat for the location!
