Two questions about the Swan. Can you still waive the resort fee? And can the Fantasmic dinner package be booked at the hotel, or is that only in "disney owned" hotels?
Thank-you for all your help

We stayed at the Swan last week and called to remove the resort fee. We had a club room and explained that we understood club rooms including this resort fee and the person who answered my call was pretty insistent that she would remove the fees THIS time but that it is NOT optional in the future.

I don't think she wished me a magical day either, come to think of it.

The concierge booked our fantasmic package without problems.

If the "resort fee" cannot be waived as an option by guests who do not want the benefits that come with it, then the hotel should stop calling it that, add the $8 to all the room charges and be done with it! If it's no longer waivable, then room rate they are advertising is misleading at best and a lie at worst.

I'm scheduled for the Dolphin in November. Made my reservations before this change. Just a standard room. No balcony unless I use my Starwood points. But, the price was better than the other EPCOT hotels. Now that the Dolphin/Swan price has increased because of this fee, the other hotels are the same.

So, if the price is the same as the real Disney-owned Epcot hotels, and I'm assured of balcony or at least step out, why should I bother with these Starwood hotels?

No flames please.
