Swan or POFQ?

I prefer to get all of the amenities of staying on site, so I would chose POFQ. It's such a great resort too!

We have stayed at the Swan for one trip and the Beach Club for another. We are going back in May and are staying at the Swan again. The location is fantastic, dining options are great and you get some of the same benefits as staying at a Disney property, including use of their transportation. The Swan rooms have been remodeled and the Dolphin rooms are under remodel now. The price was significantly less than that of any of the Disney Deluxe properties and if you book the Swan or Dolphin through Disney you do not get charged the daily resort fee. The Swan also offers character dining. The pools are fantastic.

I booked late and these are my options. I fear the Swan will be a disaster. It is too late for a disney deluxe resort. Which do I choose? I have two tweens and do not plan on going to Disney springs. Is POFQ's location ok for the parks?

Help!
I looked at Trip Advisor to read the bad reviews. My assumption is that all the "outdated" comments are coming from the Dolphin rooms that have not been remodeled yet. All of the rooms at the Swam have been remodeled. Again, we had a great experience here once before and are staying again in May.

Another vote for the Swan. I've never stayed there, but I have at BWI and that whole area is the best IMO.

I just checked the dvc site for availabilities. If you're ok with SSR, and the non preferred rooms, there's currently a studio open on April 27.

It's 16pts, so assuming you pay $14pp, you're out $224 including tax. You'll also have the Magical Express, as well as bell services moving your luggage.

Go on the rent/trade board under the dvc section. I think davids has a minimum, but there should be someone willing to book this as an option.

Personally, I like the bw area ;) there's nothing like walking to the parks. So swan gets my vote... Plus I love Bluezoo. But if you're considering a moderate in the Disney springs area, might as well look at SSR instead ;)

I'm considering the same two options. I'm a little confused by the comments that say there is no MDE at Swan. Are you referring to My Disney Experience or Disney Magical Express? I know that there is no Disney Magical Express. But I thought one of the perks that Swan guests still get was the ability to book fastpasses 60 days in advance? Is this true? What about dining reservations? Do they get 180+10 days? Also, do you receive the 60 day fastpass privilege if you book your Swan stay through the Swan website and not the Disney website?

There is no Magical express at the Swan. You cannot charge back to your room from the theme parks when staying at the Swan. You will not get a Magic Band at the Swan, but you can buy one for very little money. If you have a car and are booking with a discount through their website you need to add about $45 per day (daily parking fee and a resort fee) to get the real daily rate for your room.

You can book FP+ at 60 days, you can book ADR's at 180, but not +10. You do get the extra magic hours and you are on the Disney transportation routes. You can add your reservation for the Swan to your My Disney Experience.

We stay at the Swan or Dolphin almost every trip to WDW. IMO, you can't beat the value. It is a deluxe hotel in the Epcot area with the price tag that is often about the same as a Disney moderate hotel. AS others have said, the few small perks that you lose are nothing to the $$$ saved and the great location. The newly renovated rooms at the Swan are simply beautiful!!!
