Why do you choose one over the other?
I stayed at the Dolphin a few years ago and enjoyed it. Was thinking about the Swan this time around.
It will be me and DS11.

Unless they have changed in recent years, the Swan had queen beds and the Dolphin had double beds. They share the Grotto themed pool and each have a non-themed pool. Swan is a bit smaller than the Dolphin, but it's an easy walk between them.

If you stay at S/D, you won't get Magical Express or free dining if it is offered.

I give the edge to Dolphin because it has a bit more of a "grown-up" feel, plus it is closer to the spa and the convention-people-watching in the lobby bar is unparalleled. We stayed there on our visit this past February.

The rooms in Swan have a double vanity outside the bathroom, bigger beds, and an overall more quiet feel. We stayed at the Swan when I was a kid after it first opened and again a few years ago.

I have had equally good experiences in both and I think the room rates are a steal if you are not interested in dining plans, charging to the room, or the magical express. I would go for whichever is less expensive. If you are a nurse, teacher, have AAA, or work in public service, they usually offer a discount.

Although I like the Swan much better, I would have to say the Dolphin simply because most of the action is there as far as restaurants and overall activity. You cannot beat the Heavenly beds though, that's why I'll go to the Swan every time!

With an 11-yr old I would choose the Dolphin. They have a 24/7 counter service there called Picabu, Swan has no counter service at all. Dolphin also has an arcade & laundry, neither at Swan. The Grotto Pool area is a tad closer to the Dolphin as well.

I've stayed at both several times & always choose the Dolphin when travelling with the kids for the above-mentioned reasons! But you really can't go wrong with either, one hotel is only a short walk from the other one.

I have only stayed at the Dolphin, and liked it. Given the chance, I always like to try new places. I'd say given the swan a try. Either way, enjoy!
