We have reserved a Swan L-shaped studio suite. There isn't a picture or layout of it on the swandolphin website. It's the Swan's version of the Jr. suite.

Does anyone know if this suite has a sofa? Or if anyone has stayed there and can tell me more about it, I'd appreciate it.

Sherri

I haven't stayed there, but I know MIckeyfaniam has.
Ask her on the SD Cheerleader thread on the CB.

I believe allearsnet.com has pictures posted of that room, called a king studio. It does have a pullout couch, according to those pictures.

Here's the suite floor plan

My wife, daughter and I stayed in one and took turns on the sleeper. It was fine though the heavenly bed was, of course, so much better!

There is a king sized heavenly bed, the sleeper sofa, and a chair in the sleeping area, as well as a chest of drawers and the amoire for the TV and mini-bar. There is a large round table with (four?) chairs and a desk, with drawers, in the seating area.

The suite was very roomy and nicely appointed.

We just loved it!

I, too, stayed in the jr. suite. There is a sofa bed + King bed. I was in room 628 - end of the hall east wing - spectatular views! Three windows + balcony. :sunny:

I do have pictures and will try to post them later (I'm at work) if you wish.

Hi Sherri

We stayed in one of the L shaped rooms last June and it was awesome. Really big and lots of storage room for us and our 3 year old son. Ours had a king size bed with a big pullout couch 2 huge dressers. Very very nice.

We had the L-shaped Jr. Suite on our first visit to WDW. It was a corner room with windows in two directions - very light and plenty of room. We got this suite thanks to the DIS. When there was a minor mix-up in our reservations my wife posted here about it. At the time there was a Swan/Dolphin manager posting to this site and he intervened. Fixed the mix-up and upgraded us to the Jr. Suite!

Our view was towards MGM but I didn't realize it at the time. I remember telling my wife that there is a very odd looking hotel across the highway thinking it was some oddly themed resort. We were actually looking at the back side of TOT!

We really enjoyed the Swan/Dolphin resort and would love to stay in the Jr. Suite again.

We have this Jr. Suite reserved for 10 nights in Feb 2005. It is 500 sq feet with some of the best views on property. Best of all, many of them have balconies! Enjoy!

That would be SwanDolphin. He does still read here as far as I know and he does post occasionally, but it has been awhile. He is also the reason I ended up at the Swan - both last time and this time. Although at some point I would like to stay at either the Wilderness or GF, (just to say I did), he has made me a Swan/Dolphin convert for life.

With our nagging to him on the boards, he is also responsible for the development of the Swan/Dolphin mug program.

I think he knows his cheerleaders keep his advertising going here so he doesn't have to post much himself!!!

Oh, I think SwanDolphin knows what's happening on these boards. He doesn't miss much.

And, I must add, he's one of the nicest men I've ever met (Just in case he's reading this thread :teeth: )

We never did met him in person but he certainly helped make our vacation special.

Mr. SwanDolphin has 2 wonderful threads celebrating the resorts - the Cheerleaders and the Sorority threads of which I am on the sorority - see my avatar! Fan for life!

BTW, I, too, had the corner room and it was spectatular and I received it as a comp upgrade! :hyper:

Just curious - what's the price for the L-shaped suite at the Swan? How about other suites at the Swan? Trying to make a decision - would love to hear what people have paid for these rooms as most of what I see posted are upgrades and I'm not sure if I'm lucky enough to be blessed by that great an upgrade.
Thanks!
Kelley

I had the opportunity to see this room type in October. It was definitely a King bed and a pull out sofa. There was also plenty of room over by the table and chairs. It was a nice sized room (but didn't work for us because we needed a different bedding configuration.
The room was very nice and the view was spectacular.

Sorry - another question about these rooms - we may have a 5th person along on our trip - would there be room for a cot in the room? Do they have the L-shaped rooms on CL? If this room wouldn't work for 5 - what would you reccomend? We've stayed at Swan before and loved it - plus we're SPG Gold so we can use or accumulate points with the stay.
thanks for the help!

Feel free to click on my link above my trip counter to my OCTOBER trip photos. Pictures 1, 2 and 4 are photos of the studio room. I think the first one has a photo of the sleeper. It's a full size sleeper, dd loves it. This room was 692 I believe, absolutely amazing views!!

You should be able to fit a rollaway bed next to the window in the dining room, you'd probably have to move the table over a bit and it will be a little cramped but it is doable.

The other option would be to do a regular size room with 2 queens and a rollaway. You would be able to fit the rollaway between the window and one of the beds.

Wonderful photos! We had the exact same room only in the opposite wing. We faced the quiet pool and your balcony. Your view was MUCH better! :D However, on our last July trip we stayed at the Dolphin and had that Epcot view from our balcony room. So, I finally had a room with an Illuminations view. :hyper:

Wasn't it great to have 3 windows plus the sliders! A fab room to be sure no matter which wing you're in.

We've been in a few of the studio rooms. They were all in the east wing except for this one. The ones in the east wing all faced west like yours (they're all -25 rooms). One studio we did stay in however was in the main bldg facing east. Now that was on the 8th floor and had a perfect view of Illuminations and even MK's fireworks off in the distance toward the north. The only drawback there, was no balcony. But, still amazing views!! I love the "panaromic" view from all these studio rooms!

The Dolphin definitely has some excellent views of EPCOT! We had a great room on the corner of the furthest east wing. It was a room with the 2nd balcony that face the Swan on the end. DD loved watching the boats ride by our window, really neat!! We were stuck in our room in June because dd was sick. Luckily it was about a day and even more luckily we had an amazing view and quite a nice room!
