Hi. I am new to this board and just started planning my Disney wedding for June 2008. We are going to have around 25-30 people so the intimate wedding at WDW is out and I can't afford the custom. I was wondering if anyone has some new information regarding using justmarry.com and swan/dolphin weddings. I am not sure of the location I want right now, but I want it to be easy for my guests to get to. The prices at Swan/Dolphin seem reasonable, but I'm not overly impressed with the wedding photo backgrounds I have seen in pics. I also heard that they can get Cinderella's carriage, does any one know how much. I know these are a lot of questions, but I have so many and this will be my first trip to Disney, so I'm kind of lost. Thanks so much!!!

Hi Welcome!

There is a sticky thread at the top of the page about Swan and Dolphin weddings. Maybe check there? It might be helpful.

We are getting married at the swan in june and we are having our ceremony performed on the beach area as i too was not very impressed with the courtyard but the area around the swan and dolphin is beautiful so we guessed that we could have our pics done there. Hope this is of some help! x

The pictures on the website of the locations are awful!!! yuck! It's actually MUCH prettier in person! :thumbsup2

There are a couple locations you can use. The one I am using is Crescent Terrace. It is to the right of the hotel, outside and close to the water. There are trees and it is shaded (thank goodness because it is way to hot in July!!)

HHhhhmm, let's see if I can post pics now. ya I think it's going to let me!

Here is Crescent Terrace:

this is Crescent Terrace, looking at it from across the 'river' or whatever you would consider this LOL.

I wasn't sure of the way it all looked until I went and saw it in person. I am so happy with it now!

The beach is a possibility, but I think that it does not include seating or musicians because of the sand. For that I would check with the Swan.

For the reception, I would go with a restaurant. The customer service from the catering department at the Swan hasn't been that great. :sad2: That's my own experience though, so take that advice with a grain of salt. Each Catering Manager is different, so you might have a pleasant experience.

If you have any particular question, please don't hesitate to ask!

i am trying to find out if it is possible to upgrade my cake at the swan. Does anyone know if this is possible??

We are getting married on the Beach location in May, 2007 !! Did you ever get any pics of it? I booked it on the advice of someone on this thread and my coordinator does not have any.

No. We decided to go to the Hyatt Grand Cypress. It is near downtown Disney. I saw the pics and fell in love with their Cypress Pointe location.

The swan and dolphin website has some pictures and stuff. Here is a 360 degree tour:

Do be sure to ask your planner about this location. Last I heard they didn't include seating at all because of the sand. Let your planner know if you want chairs! It's also not a private area. It is open to resort guests.

We were originally going to try and have our reception on the beach, but it just didn't sound like a great idea for the middle of the summer in the heat. But I think a ceremony would be beautiful there!! They wouldn't have to be in the heat for so long.

Let us know if you find out more!

Thank you for the photo. I couldn't find it there. My coordinator is supposed to go on Monday and send me a photo. We are bringing in an outside vendor to set up a wedding canopy using bamboo and sheer fabrics. We don't want chairs because it wil be a short but sweet ceremony and reception is right inside at Blue Zoo. Cypress looks gorgeous. Are you having your reception at disney? Well thank you so much for the photo. :hippie:

I love the cypress and I am very excited. The price was so much more reasonable for me. I am not sure about our reception. We may do something at a disney resort or just eat at the hyatt. Either way, its my first trip to disney and I will have my 2 daughters with me 5 and 20 months at that time and be getting married!!! I will also have around 25 of my closest family and friends there. We are going to keep our home reception very disney themed. If anyone wants info on the Hyatt, let me know!!

your welcome for the photo! That website is kind of confusing to navigate! :)

So you are having your reception at the blue zoo? How many guests do you have? Just curious.

Just making sure about the chair thing. I know another swan bride that didn't know, and found out pretty last minute. your decorations sound absolutely beautiful! I think your ceremony will be sweet and romantic.

Actually- the guest list keeps growing...but we're up to 36. They have a private room to use but I actually reserved 3 tables of 12 in the main dining room because I want our guests to experience the incredible food there- and private dining gives you such a limited menu. It took a lot of begging to get this and we actually had to have a 15 minute time difference in seatings, but the bar is so beautiful, we won't mind having another cocktail with our friends while the parents and aunts sit first. I looked at it like, at a long table of 36, we won't be able to speak to the guests half way down the table anyway. Since the desserts there are so incredible, we are having a dessert party and wedding cake, the following night at Epcot. It'll make the celebration last a little longer too. We just love Disney and wanted to be there, but we're just not the type for the full blown fairytale wedding. (Although I love watching and reading about everyone else's ftw.) I really wish they put a package together for the "other" brides and grooms that have a love for Disney and want that magical place forever in their memories. It seriously took me forever to try and achieve this wedding our way. We actually booked our ceremony for Leu Gardens at first but then someone on these boards told me the beach location is actually beautiful and since we are staying at the s&d and Blue Zoo was there, I figured just make it easy and do it all there. Also I envisioned myself sweating walking through the gardens...Well- thank you again SO much for the photo. good luck with your planning. It's so much fun isn't it??
