I'm looking to know who has had their wedding at the Swan/Dolphin Resorts. I would like to positive and negative aspects of this as opposed to having it at a traditional Disney wedding location. Any help would greatly appreciated!

ohhh good thread to start....I'd like to hear know that too from Swan brides/grooms too. I'm considering to do a swan wedding next year....just waiting for confirmation on availbility.

fyi grover started a thread about swan pricing and info. and you should contact justmarry.com just to get a head start on what some of your options are with them.

I had my wedding/reception at the Swan.
What would you like to know??

Oh, I have so many questions. Where did you hold your wedding ceremony? Where did you hold your reception? How many guests did you have? Who was your WC? Where would you recommend staying for your wedding night/week? Did you have your rehearsal dinner at Disney? If so, where? If I'm asking too many questions, just let me know. Thank you so much.

locations:
1)Crescent Terrace, 2)East Courtyard, 3) and they have a indoor banquet area if you choose to.

still trying to find a better picture of Crescent Terrace..

if you're really interested in doing swan wedding, I highly recommend contacting justmarry.com now because it took them a while to get back with me. been a week and still waiting to confirm dates with them  I'm hoping it's just because it's the holiday's and they're busy.

Thanks Groomtb. I have been working with them, I was just curious to know where other people have picked. We're also trying to find another picture of Crescent Terrace because we liked that site, from what we saw of it anyway.

We had booked the CT however it rained on our wedding day so we moved inside. They had a smaller banquet room for our wedding ceremony...and a larger one for the reception we had booked.
There is a another thread here with my cost info.
We had Randy Chapman as our photograhper for 2 hours.
We did not stay at the Swan-our whole group stayed at Pop Century-this was totally fine with the wedding coordinator.
I had a group of 16 for my wedding.
We went over the morning of our wedding and dropped off all our decorations..two hours before our wedding we went back..we each had a getting ready room free of charge.
After the wedding we had a cocktail hour while we did photo's..by then it had stopped raining :umbrella: ..still overcast (but great for no shadows/no squinting..lol!)...and there was NO ONE outside in the backgrounds of our photos!! They set up tall cocktail tables and votives for me..that was a nice touch! I had my own decor for the dining table which I did in a long roman style.
We had a dj for 4 hrs..he did music for the ceremony and then moved into our reception..he was a steal at under 400.00..awesome personality and totally worked with us on what we wanted. We didn't plan on dancing but he had everyone up and moving right away!!! :cool1:
The Swan did a phenomenal job on our hor'derves and meal--everyone loved it. I went with only beer/wine as that is what my crowd drinks. :grouphug:
My cake was given a extra teir free of charge..they decorated it with mickey icons and used the cake topper I gave them.
I had Susan from JustMarry as my cooridnator and Vanessa kells as my catering Manager from the Swan. I planned the entire thing via email. Got my mail order marriage lisence thru another company-can't recall the name.
Both were totally willing to work with me in terms of my budget. I told them what I wanted and how much I had and we went from there. We went thru various menus/options..they have menus on the website and i used that as a starting point.
My officiant was Rev Tim Herring-he was good.
I had no problems on my wedding..everything went smooth as pie :cheer2:
After the wedding we all went back to POP and partied by the pool till the weeeeee hours of the morning! Everyone had so much fun...we changed out of wedding gear..people were swimming..lots of congrats from people..security :earseek: came to visit (opps thought we would be in trouble..but they just came to say congrats tooo!).
Please let me know if you have more questions..it is nice to relive my wedding! princess: :cloud9:

You have me so excited about doing our wedding at the Swan. We're also working with a tight budget so I know exactly what you mean. Do you have pictures of your wedding I could look at? I would love to see everything.

we might go down to Swan this month for a site visit. as weather permitts, we'll take pictures there and share :)

my coodinator gave me the impression that they'll be able to do anything we want and they'll provide a quote for us. which is pretty nice :)

Just like to mention that you can still have Mickey and Minnie to show up at your Swan wedding. too add that Disney touch to the Swan wedding... The price is the same as Disney option.. (about $1100 for both, 30mins)

I'm going to try upload the most current Swan wedding site pix tonite... Cerscent Terrace DOES NOT look like what's on their website, anymore. The platform is there, but they must done some landscaping around it because it's more open and less trees.

What do you mean about the Crescent Terrace? Thats where we're doing our wedding. Does it look better or worse?

well if all you saw was from the swandolphin wedding page, then yes it's rather different in terms of the palm trees condition.
Maybe I went there with high expectation of the site to look EXACTLY like the picture. But yeh I was wrong...

I'll PM a link of the pictures later tonight after I upload it somewhere. I took both the terrace and the fountain.

I don't mean to make you change mind!!! But it's definetly a good to know info.

finally found wdwinfo can upload pix, cool feature :goodvibes

multidirection shots of Crescent Terrace and East Couryard, check it out, it's sort of slow updating description so I gave up...but it's pretty obvious stuff.

quality was cut down from original size so it's viewing friendly.

hope this works!!!

Hello everyone,

I am new here -- I just arrived from theknot...someone there mentioned this site so I came over to check it out. I am getting married at the Swan and Dolphin in May but most of my planning at the resort is done. My coordinator at the S and D is Joan DeSlauriers.

The CT looks different than the pics online because it suffered some hurricane damage a little more than a year ago (I think thats the right timing). I saw it just after and the tops of the palm trees were pretty much gone. I have been back recently though and they are definitely on their way to a full recovery.

I have some other pictures of CT, the other outdoor courtyards and a ballroom in the dolphin. Just email me and I'd be happy to send them along or answer any questions you have.

Hi Liz!

Welcome to the Dis Boards! You'll find a lot of wonderful information here, just ask.

I've e-mailed you about pictures and info from the Swan!

Thanks,
Tanya

I'm Currently Looking For More Info On Weddings At The Swan. Could You Also Send Me Those Pictures?

Thanks
