Swan/Dolphin or Coronado Springs for a short, no-kids trip?

Hi! My husband and I have decided to take a quick 3-night trip down to Disney World in July to celebrate our birthdays. It will be our first trip without our daughter. Without her, we're not huge ride people, so my plan is to spend one night each in Epcot & MK and do a starlight safari on our third night. Other than that, we'll want to do table service breakfasts,, spend time at the pool, maybe get a spa treatment, and just relax and enjoy our resort (I'm a little worried about the July heat coming from the northeast!). I have found comparable pricing at the Swan/Dolphin and the new Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs. Would one of these resorts suit our plans better than the other? (We've only ever stayed in DVC villas on rented points.) Or is there another resort that you'd recommend for this kind of trip? Any feedback is welcome and appreciated!

I'd have a hard time staying at the swolphin if i wasn't planning on park hopping...DHS and epcot would be teasing me.

I am a little worried that I'll wish we'd gotten Park Hoppers if we stay there! I know they're in walking distances but can you see the parks from the resort?

From some rooms, you can see EP or DHS from Swan/Dolphin. If you are planning on doing EP one evening, Swan/Dolphin is a good choice. It's so nice to just walk back to your resort after you are done in EP. The spa at the Dolphin is very nice and has more treatment options than the one at CSR. Also, there is more to do in the EP resort area - walk on the Boardwalk, walk over to Fantasia mini-golf, etc. The pool area at Swan/Dolphin is very nice as well.

Thank you! The more I hear/read/think about it, the more it seems Swan/Dolphin will suit this kind of trip nicely.

I think the Swalphin fits this type of trip very well. The pool area is fantastic and the resorts offer some wonderful dining experiences.

You mentioned Spa Treatments - check out the Mandara Spa at Swan/Dolphin -it's my favorite Spa anywhere. It's beautiful, relaxing and they offer quite a bit of variety with the services.
