Can someone please explain the difference between club level and concierge at the Dolphin Hotel.

We recently stayed there in the club level. But when we checked in there was not much information forthcoming about what the room included.

Can one of your Swan/Dolphin cheerleaders enlighten me?

in looking over the FAQ of the S/D I think we may have missed the boat the last time we were there. Were we entitled to snacks or not?

I;m confused.

Hi, I've been trying to find out this answer also, have posted 4 times and still no answers. We are staying at the Swan club level.

I think it is considered concierge, and I'm sure I've read someplace that there is no charge for the resort fee staying club level.

Also the thread by "glo" on the Swan and Dolphin has some info on club level. I have an 800 # for the Swan (I haven't had a chance to call yet) maybe they can help you, with the Dolphin being a sister resort or give you a number to call.

Good luck, if you find out anything please post, and I will to . We will be there the beginning of Aug. for 8 days then off to AKL for 5 days.

We stayed at the Dolphin in March....swooning still it was such a nice time - anyway - concierge level and club level is the same thing. They are supposed to fuss over you a bit more on club level....setting up dinner reservations or whatever - YES you should have had snacks....and breakfast in the club lounge on the 12th floor. The breakfast offered is danish/muffins/fruit tray/breads/cereals/drinks - alot of everything. I think that's 7-9 or something....and then in the "evening" from 5-7 they have snacks and a hot hordevour....and the fruit tray. We frankly ate all our breakfasts up there - ate our big meal of the day out somewhere early afternoon - and then ate snacks from the club lounge for our "dinner"....saved us a bunch of money.

You CAN have club level privileges and NOT be on club floors. We reserved a room with a balcony and were "upgraded" to club level - however, the rooms aren't nicer and I wanted a balcony - and LOVED LOVED LOVED my balcony....and would pay extra for it ANY DAY....anyway, we got an excellent room with our balcony - 8029...am having that number tatooed to my butt so I never forget it.....illuminations every night at 9 for our daughter to see, the balcony for a little smooching with dh and the breeze and sunshine was WONDERFUL......well, anyway - I can't say enough about the Dolphin....love it.

Two last notes: Take a ride down the slide at the pool. My daughter had to nag me into doing it - and I muttered all the way over to do it - but then giggled all the way down. Put your arms up by your ears and slide!!! I was like a chubby little kid having the time of my life! Maybe burned off a little of those wonderful (go there!!!!!) ribs at Boma's at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Go eat at Boma's - oh, and dump your kids off at Simbas Clubhouse and relax in peace for a couple hours.

wdw4us,

I guess you'd like the 800 # also. I'm glad it's Friday.

If you have not joined Starwood do so immediately. Then, sign up for a Starwood American Express and call to get yourself upgraded to Gold level and you will get upgrades...ok, there's some people who say you can't count on it - and ok, it isn't in stone - but they do NOTICE that you are "higher up the food chain" when you're gold and they seem to put you in a better room with regularity.

You do not pay the resort fee if you are at club level....and you don't pay (we didn't) have to pay the resort fee if you book for a balcony room and are upgraded to club level....

With club level they turn down your bed, draw your drapes and turn on your lights at night so you don't enter a dark room - chocolate on the pillows - they put mineral water in our room for free - and bring you robes - which we were told to take home....:bounce:

All in all, I've heard the renovations at the Swan are nice - although even as picky as I am I liked the Dolphin rooms just fine - and the lobby at the Dolphin is simply much more grand. The Swan is just very odd in that it seems to have not much lobby at all....

thanks for the information, I think they should've explained that to me when we checked in. - at least for us newbie's

I just wasn't thinking about how dreadful you'd feel about missing out on those perks. I'm so sorry about that. Frankly, if I were you, I do believe I would write the Dolphin a note and tell them you recently were informed that you were entitled to these wonderful privs and had missed out on them. It is my guess that you'll receive a nice note back apologizing and perhaps get a free night or at least promise of a special room next time - perhaps a big stash of starwood points or something to soothe you...
If you are a starwood member - include your number - if you're not, join starwood and include your new number and see what happens.

You just don't know until you ask.....:Pinkbounc

Chin up - :(

Not paying the resort fee on club level is new to me! We stayed at the Dolphin last August in a standard room and did not pay the resort fee. When we stayed at the Swan in December on club level we did have to pay. I even asked at check-in about not paying it since we did not pay for it in August. The clerk said no more waving of resort fee at all anymore since the hotel had been refurbished. Has anyone stayed at the Swan the last 3 or 4 months on club lefel and not paid the resort fee? If this is true, I may be making reservation for club level for this August.
