Swan/ Dolphin discounts

Just a quick heads up. Both the Swan and Dolphin offer an incredible discount for teachers, nurses, and government employees.

I never seem to see a lot of information about it, aside from a quick mention on mousesavers. But their website has the info:

Before we were lucky enough to get a PIN code, I had reserved a Deluxe Alcove room at the Dolphin-- large enough to sleep 6. It cost something like $249 a night with the teacher's discount, including all the taxes and other expenses. It really was a good deal!. (Not quite as good a deal as a 30% PIN, but something I'll go back to the next time we plan a trip.)

They have had those discounts for several years, in fact that's how I found this site. Several years ago I stayed at Swan with 2 of our sons for $129 a night in August! We loved the resort and the location, but the poor bus transportation for MK, AK, and DTD turned us off to staying there again. Too bad because those resorts are lovely.

We really liked the Swan [especially because I had a lot of starwood points so it was "free"!], but was really turned off by the charge to park my car. I just can't see the rate being low enough to even out so that I'm not paying just as much for a *real* on-property resort.
