Swan/Dolphin Concierge vs other resorts

A question for the many Swan/Dolphin experts (who have given me a great deal of very helpful information already):

The concierge level rooms at various resorts such as GF, Poly, and AKL seem to offer special services like making "preferred seatings", separate check-in, etc. I know that at the Swan/Dolphin, the CL is not comparable - there is no separate check-in for example. Yet there is a concierge service in the hotel - with the desk on the main floor. Many higher end city hotels also have a concierge desk that is there for everyone in the hotel, so I wonder if this is the case at Swan/Dolphin. Is the concierge there for everyone, or are there special services available to those with CL privleges?

Either way - will the concierge make PS arrangements for you (and can they "pull strings" like I hear has been done at that level at GF or Ploy)? Or is it just a convenience feature where they will make recommendations and call for you - again like at other hotels in other cities?

Thanks.

Just a little bump^^^^ I would like to know also.....

I did not use this service, but in reading the materials in my room my feeling is that this is more like a "traditional" service then the Disney service. In other words they will call to make PS, but don't have any of the "pull" that Disney's do. The service is open to all guests.

As for CL maybe the host or hostess does could help, but that was not my impression. My impression was that they are just running the lounge. I did not see any seperate concierge for that level.

The concierge desk is there for anyone who is staying at the resort. I don't know if they have any "pull" for the well requested PSs or not. I did not try for the coveted CRT PS. I both called from my room and visited in person the desk on numerous occassions to change our PSs and never had a problem getting the restaurant I wanted at the time I wanted. They seemed to be using the same Disney PS computer program that the other establishments were using. I would have to guess that their "pull" would be with the Swan and Dolphin restaurants. Palio was a standout and we will be back again during a future trip.

Hope this helps,
Debbie

CarolA and #1hockeymom -
That helps a lot. That was my impression, but I wanted to be sure. Once again, thanks for your help and advice. I think we'll try Palio.
