Swan/Dolphin? Club level or balcony?

Going in March to meet friends for long weekend. I will arrive one day early and hope to stay at the Swan or Dolphin. I do not plan to do the parks but just relax. I can get a teacher's rate, and am debating where to stay. I would appreciate help from all you experts with the following.

How are the views from both hotels in the Club Levels? I really want to see the fireworks in the evening.
Has the Dolphin Club level been refurbished?
Is it worth the money to stay at this level for one person? Would I be just as happy getting a balcony room with a resort view and using the $20 difference for a nice breakfast at Fresh?

I have stayed CL at the Dolphin and have had a balcony room at the Swan. I really enjoyed both. If I had to choose one over the other and I was solo, I would go for CL.

I stayed there solo and had a free upgrade to CL If I was paying I would go with the balcony. I think it would be hard for one person to justify the cost. I don't think I eat that many danishes for breakfast.

you could get club level and the ask upon checkin to get a room with a balcony. we did that and got a king room with double balcony and had club level access. We werent on the club level floor (12th i think) but we had awesome views from the 2 balconies.

I would love CL access but get to stay in my balcony room.
I would even pay for it!
The lovely lady I spoke with at the Dolphin said they don't do that anymore.
Was I misinformed?

Anyone else have info about this?
