Hehehehe Debbie...I get that "mom I need to go online now!!" whenever I'm on here To make matters worse, DH has recently become addicted to the Minesweeper game and is always on here if DD or I walk away from the keyboard LOL
So how's the CA trip planning going??

Today I am trying to cope with the thought of returning to work tomorrow after 11 days off (7 workdays)....my longest vacation in years. blaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

today is the day to go riding around town......it is gorgeous here and hubby will not have the distinction of having the dirtiest brand new truck at work.......8 guys all bought silverado or gmc green trucks the same time we did.......and his was the worse .....never would of happened if it hadn;t been below zero for so long......now this truck is gorgeous.........I love it.......
we still park in the new truck parking lot (as hubby deems it) when we go to walmart........that means that we walk a long way to get to the store......

Hi everybody! Judging from the number of posts on here it looks like all ya'll agreed w/ me that it was too nice outside this weekend to be cooped up indoors. Only problem is that with the warm temperature my car decided it wanted to sow me exactly how warm it could get by overheating my engine despite the new thermostat and fresh anti-freeze. It seems the motor has gone out on my cooling fans so tomorow I'll have to take it to the shop. In the meantime I guess I'll just have to play on the computer since I can't run any errands and such. 'Oh darn
Anyway, hope ya'll are having a great weekend! Talk to ya soon.

Morning everyone, off to do some spring cleaning! I am on vacation this week and I will try to get back here and post some...I know I have been neglecting you guys.

Good morning everyone. I guess I'll have a little more time to keep up to date with all of you for the next few weeks. I'm sure that some of you may have seen that I slipped on the ice on Thursday morning at work and I am now laid up for at least the next two weeks with a broken ankle and leg. The EMS crew, the hospital, my surgeon, and all the nurses were wonderful. And my wife is handling the demands of a husband who is confined to the couch. Sue has to work on Tuesday and Wednesday, so my mom and dad might drive up to take care of me. James is thrilled that I can't drive for 6 weeks because now he has a car available all the time. We're actually fortunate to have a teenage driver right now because he can take over for taxi-*** Sarah and himself around so that Sue can go crazy taking care of me.

nothing exciting here. trying to figure out if i can squeeze a vacation other than to des moines out of our schedule. i've been pricing cruises...while i'd much prefer disney cruise line, those are just out of our price range right now. norwegian cruise line offers some great deals on their texaribbean itineraries though! i doubt it will happen, but it's nice to dream...

More car issues for me...I'm hoping there's nothing majorly ($$$) wrong with my car. I've had two replacement batteries in the last 4 months, and there's something that's draining them. I finally left my car over the weekend at the shop so the mechanic could go over it today...wish me luck! They replaced one of the connection wires about a week and a half ago, and I thought that was the issue...ugh!

It was a nice weekend, but we were cleaning, in anticipation of my old/new roomie coming back on Tuesday. I will get out today and walk around - it should be beee-yoo-tee-ful!

John - hope you have a speedy recovery. I'm assuming you're on the couch, with a wireless mouse and keyboard?

Brandie....we've been dreaming of relocating to the Florida Gulf coast after looking through all the little real estate flyers we picked up while down there! It's fun to dream and sometimes they DO come true!

I had 212 e-mail messages in my inbox at work this morning Our new computer system sends an e-mail AND puts a "task assigment" on a "user workload calendar" when someone transfers a file or otherwise assigns work. About 3/4ths of the e-mail messages were from "THE SYSTEM"
SO in addition to the pile of files and other "paperwork" which are the actual WORK, I had to sort through and delete all those useless e-mails.....
only 8 voice mails though.

Gotta run........back to a meeting that I obviously haven't had time to prepare for...but it was on my "calendar" when I got in this morning

I've got a nice Dell notebook computer with a wireless card, so I can just lay on the couch and DIS the day away.

An update of sorts, I got up to use the facilities this afternoon and fell flat on my back on the way back to the couch. I avoided hitting my ankle and leg, but I whacked my hand on a something as I was falling. I think that I might have slightly sprained one of my fingers. It hurts to type. I guess I need voice input software.

I'm a wreck. But so far I think I've been an OK patient for Sue and my kids to contend with. Maybe because Sue has to give me an injection every morning and I want to be careful NOT to upset her. Seriously, the family has been great. My MIL is coming up to watch we tomorrow because Sue has to work. And after my fall, I guess it's not a bad idea to have someone around to call 9-1-1.

Thanks Ann for the link.... I did see that the other day but there weren't as many posts so I will have to read it through. I know its much smaller but I'm still looking forward to it. ...especially the Grand Californian. ....and I read the weather there in July averages a simply splendid 82 degrees We'll only be at DL for 3 days of our vacation.... we're going to stay in San Diego for part of the trip and stay part in Santa Monica.
And Jerry and Mike are both doing the Richard Petty driving thingie at California speedway. ....which is next door to where Jerry's sister lives. Mike is so psyched cuz the track is a longer one than the one he did at WDW.

ME....I'm just plain psyched I can't think of anyting else....all of my spare time is spent researching I feel like a 5 year old with Christmas approaching

we took a walk this morning.......the baby dump and run and I .....I put him in a carriage and we walked a few blocks.....it is damp out but still nice......no sun.....yesterday he didn't come and it was sunny out.....someday the weather and MOI will cooperate......I went to a store that makes muffins with eggs and cheese and a big sausage patty and we shared it.....baby dump and runs comments was ...yummmmmmmmmmmm more more .......bite bite.....he is one and a half can you tell......have a good everyone.....

debbie...i'm so jealous! i've wanted to stay at the grand californian!! it looks like a beautiful resort. i saw it on Great Hotels with Samantha Brown recently. are you getting a park view? California Adventure looks so pretty all lit up at night! the fireworks display at DisneyLand (magic kingdom part) is amazing. it holds such a special place in my heart...my parents used to take us to DisneyLand all the time when we were younger. i used to know that place like the back of my hand! not so much anymore...i like DisneyLand cuz most of my favorites from WDW are condensed into two parks, instead of all spread out amongst 4. you will have a blast!! the downtown disney area is kinda nice too...more upscale kinda shops though. there's still a world of Disney store there. interesting restaurants too...

please tell me i'm crazy for considering another puppy from the same litter that we got jasmine from...

Good morning everyone. I haven't fallen down in 19 hours.

I even got out of the house to cast my vote in the primary election. More importantly, I went out to support our emergency school levy. If it fails, we will have to drive our son to and from high school starting next Monday. Or should I say that SUE will have to drive James to and from school starting next week. These are tough times for schools and for folks on fixed incomes. I wish that I had a solution.

I talked with the human resources people at work today and they are going to send out a physical therapist to show me how to go up and down stairs on crutches. That's something that the hospital didn't cover and I had to figure out for myself. And based on the events of yesterday, I must not have the proper technique.
