I have had a busy busy week including doing some interviews for an open spot in my daycare and after long thought I have decided to take on a special needs child....speech delayed and possibly autistic but so far his specialists say no to that....he's adorable but needs some kind loving patience. I decided to take the challange and its on a trial basis of course.
Unfortunately I no longer have April school vacation off so my "roadtrip to WDW" is going to be postponed...but thats OK with me...it'll wait

Its still freezing cold here
Last night my nieces daughter....she's 7 sleepwalked. She's never done this before. She got up and opened the door and went outside barefoot...no coat...just jammies and went out and got in her mothers car. The only reason they knew this happened was her 7 year old twin brother had gotten up to go to the bathroom and saw her open the door and go out. He then went and woke his mom and told her Katie just went outside. They raced out and found her sitting in the car. My niece is frantic over this!! It must have been zero or lower here....If Nick ....her brother hadn't gotten up to go to the bathroom...he wouldn't have seen her walk out...she could have frozen to death
Now they don't know what to do....my niece wanted to put on a lock out of her reach but Jerry says that could be bad if there were ever a fire.

Oh well...I think I'm off to BJ's today and then some work on the taxes...YUCK!!

How big a house and how soundly does your niece sleep? When DD was 2-3 and I was a single mom, I put a little set of windchimes on her bedroom doorknob on the inside when she went to bed. I would leave her door just slightly ajar when I went to bed. If she got up and came out of her room (for the bathroom or whatever) - when she moved the door the chimes would make just enough noise to wake me....but I am a pretty light sleeper and was just in the next room. Maybe your niece could rig something to make enough noise to wake her if the kids headed out of the bedroom area or front door? I do agree with Jerry about the lock fire hazard issue.

Debbie, maybe your niece could check out an alarm system. When we use our system, when you set it at night, if anyone opens a door (or window depending on the system) it will buzz for 30 seconds to allow time to get to the keypad and put in the code. If the code isn't put in, the siren will blast everyone out of bed. That could be a better answer than a high lock. Hope it all works out for them.

Thanks for the sleepwalk suggestions. My neice called her pediatrician and it was suggested to her to hang bells and to put up a baby gate.....so that is what she has done. She sleepwalked again last night...she went into her brothers room.

hey everyone...

i had planned to post some pics this weekend of our house, but dh left the digital camera at work!!

kinda scary about the sleepwalking issues...

i am so ready for our trip in november. i just can't stand waiting so freaking long!! i taped a special last week sometime on emeril's restaurant Tcoup Chop over there in the new universal studios resort...we had kind of decided to just do the disney portion of our trip instead of a few days at universal...so i had put the restaurant out of my mind. but after watching that special, i think we'll be making a special trip over that way...it looks heavenly!! i don't think we're going to stay anywhere near universal for those first few nights...not sure where we're gonna stay actually...lol...we have reservations for the dolphin beginning on nov 29th. i know that we're going to take it easy those first few days...no parks...but i thought we'd spend some time resort hopping to see all of the holiday decorations! that's going to be thanksgiving weekend...the parks will be a madhouse. i'm just trying to decide...try to extend our stay at the dolphin? or book 3 nights elsewhere? decisions, decisions...

and i just discovered that they turned my favorite downtown disney area hotel into a holiday inn! it had been a courtyard for almost 10 years!!!

I was at Disney this weekend, I needed an escape from reality - it worked! I did AK, MK and Epcot on Sunday and then MK, MGM and Epcot on Sunday - very busy.


Hey SSB - I noticed this past weekend the lemonade stand was only letting "real" guests park in their lots (ok I am bad, I sometimes will park there when I go to Epcot or MGM). Is this going to be constant or was there somekind of big convention this weekend? They had welcome Lotus signs at the entrance to both "Stands"

Happens a few times a year, if headquarters for mega conventions that also have persons staying at the other Disney properties... as they try to park over here!
