Swan and Dolphin sold out for check in dates in late March 2023

UPDATE: I was able to get the reservation for my mom! After much poking around on the Marriott website and trying different dates, I realized that the first 4 nights of the stay were available. So I booked those and then I went back in and modified the reservation to include all 8 nights and somehow it let me do that! So that is a hack to try if some of your nights are available - book what you can and then modify the reservation.

I booked my family at the Swan Reserve for March 30 - April 7 2023. My mom is coming on the trip and was planning to book her own room separately. Unfortunately, she waited to book and now the Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve are all sold out for our dates. She reserved the Caribbean Beach resort, but obviously it would be better if she could stay closer to us. Beach/ Yacht/ Boardwalk are out of budget.

So my question is, does availability change often? Is it worth checking back once a week to see if space opens up? Is there any sort of wait list option where she could be notified if a room opens up?

Thanks in advance! We are first timers so sorry if this is a dumb question.

Yes, it's definitely worth checking. Typically, if those resorts are sold out, it means there are conferences or events going on and those conferences are holding large blocks of rooms. When it gets closer to the dates, rooms in those blocks that haven't been reserved will be released back into the general inventory. I had the same issue in February of this year, but some rooms opened up at the Swan a few weeks beforehand when a conference was canceled.

There could be an event but my concern is that it's also the week before easter. I'd keep checking the inventory at all those places, but whatever she does, she should NOT cancel her reservation at CBR

Definitely not cancelling CBR without a reservation in place at the Swan/ Dolphin. I tried looking at one night stays and it looks like just April 3-5 is the issue. She might go ahead and book March 30-April 3 at the Swan and then move to CBR for the last 4 nights if the dates don't open up. I did tell her it's one of the busiest weeks and that was why I booked early, but she procrastinated unfortunately!

It's Spring Break time and the Swolphin has become a popular alternative with the rising costs of WDW resorts, I can't find a conference listed for then, but there could be.

Hotels do sell out these days...for instance, every room at WDW is sold out for Nov. 5-13, and that's just because of F&W Half, school breaks, Veterans Day, and Jersey Week. Just imagine the Spring break crowds!

Yup, I realize it's a busy time of year and that hotels sell out. I think my question was answered above. Basically, keep the reservation we've got but it can't hurt to check back just in case something opens up.

I see your dates for April but the thread title says all of March Sold Out?
Is March also not showing anything available?

My check in date is March 30, that is why the thread title is March. I didn't say all of March is sold out. I was searching for an 8 night stay starting March 30 and that is showing sold out. If you see my update though I was able to book a 4 night stay and extend to 8 nights.
