I just checked my dates and they are now down to 69 bucks each way. Now if only I remember how to do it on-line. Can anyone tell me here or should I just go ahead and call SWA? Can save another 30 bucks:woohoo:

Go to the travel tools tab at the top. Then click on "change reservation". Put in your info.

What dates? That's fantastic.

Just finished doing it.....go to Southwest.com and go to Travel Tools. You can either go through change flight or open two windows. In one window choose the new lower flights and get to the screen where you enter your name and payment info. In your other window open your current reservation and cancel. Then use the reservation number (from what you just cancelled) and put it under the heading "apply ticketless travel funds". When you finish filling out the payment screen with your info and confirm the new ticket(s) it will say you have $XX left under the confirm number.
The reason I do the two windows is b/c I don't want to cancel and then find out when I go to buy the new tickets that they are all sold out of the discount fares.

Now if they would only lower my return fare! I can take the EARLY morning flight back for $69 but I don't want to........and our afternoon flight is still $130!

We leave on the 7th and return on the 13th. I wish I had known before to do it this way, as previously I had cancelled and re-booked, and now my credits are under different confirmation numbers. Time to print them all off and keep them safely as if *** gulp** God forbid something happens to the computer/email, how am I going to figure out all this:confused3

But anyway, can't beat a price of less than 500 bucks for 3 returns:dance3:

Wow!!
I booked in June at 119 each way for four of us. As of now for the exact same flights I have a 400 credit!:cool1: :woohoo: :cool1:

Do you know if they may go down for October? We are going the 10th-14th, for two, nonstop(DH will only fly nonstop) comes to $1038. I'm not seeing cheaper flights anywhere. For $500 more, I might as well fly out of Toronto, and not have the 2 hour drive each way.

November is down a bit too.. I am booking for a friend Nov 5-12 and it is down to about 99 each way... I hope it drops more for her!

I updated my ressie for our upcoming trip - got the $69 rate!!! I was laughing so hard I could barely type while doing it. :lmao: Once it had gone down to $79 I stopped watching because I figured that was the lowest it would go!

Thanks so much for passing on the info!!! :wizard:

That is Thanksgiving weekend and Columbus Day Weekend, those flights would have been less earlier. As for them coming down, perhaps they will come down to $99.00..........I see there is one non-stop at $99.00 now too.

Yeah, I see the $99 flight at 7:30 am:eek: There's no possible way DH and I would make a flight that early. We're more the mid-day flight kinda people. Plus, this is an unexpected conference trip and we'll be in DTD. We have no choice in our flights really.

For those of you looking for mid September flights... fares are very low again this morning. 69 dollars each way for almost all flights on the 12th and 22nd (my dates).
Check now because they were only that low for about an hour or to yesterday.

Wow, those are great rates everyone!

We're also going on a over Thanksgiving weekend and I keep checking our flights and they keep going up and up and up.

The 11:15 flight on the 10th was $143 when we booked (actually changed from the 6:50 flight, paying more but get there soo much earlier!), then went to $157, then $196, then $209 and now today was at $249. All this since we booked on August 13!

I'm still checking, but it doesn't look like they're going down.

Good luck to everyone else!

Just saved another $10 each. Every little bit helps.

We're leaving from Buffalo on Nov 7th and our fares keep going up instead of down!!!!:guilty:

We were in Florida this past May and our cost for both fares then were way less than just one fare now!

Sammi.. I can't say for sure but I would wait until you are a little closer to the time of your trip.
Mine did the same.. they went up to 169 and 189 at one point:scared1:
But here we are two weeks out and they are at 69 for the same flights.
I think maybe if there are quite a few seats left the fares start to go down.

Yes that's what I'm really hoping for....that way we have an excuse for another trip just to use up our credit!! lol;)

If you change your flight to a new one to save money, don't you have to pay a cancellation fee which would offset any savings? :confused3 Tell me I'm wrong.

That is the beauty of Southwest....no change fees! When fares go down and you "rebook" you get credit in the form of ticketless travel funds. You can you use these to pay for future travel. (they expire one year from when you originally booked your flight)

That's fabulous! I had no idea - we'll definitely be travelling with SW this time. :yay:

Thanks to this board, I've rebooked the same flights twice now for a credit of $428 for 4 people. How great is that?
