I hope someone here can clear this up for me. DW & I are planning on flying Southwest for the first time this November. My questions are, if we purchase the EBCI option do we pay for the at the time of booking? Does SWA "automatically" check you in or do you have to check-in yourself? Lastly
if we use EBCI can we still use RAC for our return to MCO? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

You can add EBCI after booking. SW automatically checks you in at 36 hours but you can't get your boarding pass until 24 hours or less before boarding time. The SW wed site may have more details if you need them.

Don't know what RAC is.

Yes, you can purchase EBCI at the time you purchase your tickets. It has been said, the earlier you buy EBCI, the lower your boarding pass number is.

Yes, SWA automatically checks you in.

Yes, you can still use RAC. When we used it last October, our boarding passess were printed out for us and placed under our door the night before our flight with instructions on how to check our bags through RAC.
