I knew there was a reason I was always reluctant to fly SWA besides the seating. While Dings and credit from canceling/rebooking flights seem like a great deal (and usually they are), SW hooks you once you get some credits in your account, keeping you compelled to flying only them even when rates are high. Crack dealers!

Unfortunately, the new fare releases leave much to be desired. Oh well, I guess I'll just leave my credits in my account for a future "Ding spur of the moment" trip, and book AT for my scheduled WDW trip in May. I refuse to pay $290 round trip BDL to MCO in May, a historic low travel season, and just hope that I catch a Ding fare therefore perpetuating my dependence on SWA. Especially when I can fly out of SWF on Airtran for $182!

Hopefully now the other airlines will start competing with SWA past May 10th!

I just booked out of Providence for mid-June and paid $157 per person. I didn't think that was too bad, but am still hoping the prices will drop a bit.

Wow that fare stinks! I did like the thread title though. :rotfl:

I just booked Ft Myers RT for 139 p person in June.....556 total. I call that a deal for me!

If that's RT, its great! One-way, not so much. $300+ for Orlando are holiday rates. Should be no more than $250, max, $200 would be a good fare.

UConn Jack - Have you considered flying out of Manchester? Not sure which patr of CT you're in, but you should have your chocie of 3 aiports (Hatrford, Providence, Manchester.)

If all else fails, look at Jet Blue. Not sure of your dates, but you could do Jet Blue roundtrip in May for $184.

SW- STICKER shock here $350 Kc - Orlando round trip, NO WAY. I just booked Allegiant out of Spfd Mo to Orlando for $300, Also only have to drive 10 miles to airport instead of 220 miles..

UConnJack...from Chicago...Midway...AND our departing flight is on a Saturday! Only bummer is no WDW this trip...family obligation, so paying thru the nose was going to make it that much harder. I had a $278 credit, so only 277 left to pay off.

Well both my trips (June and Aug) opened up all $73 one ways before fees for 3 of us.

So I had to put money out again even though I had over $400 in credits. I was hopeing to hold off on the Aug booking before the June went on sale a bit as they always do and just use that credit.

Oh well I always have a trip planned so it will get used. At least thats out of the way for both trips now just a good rate fpr our Aug VeroB car rental and we are all set.

I agree! Last May trip we paid $87 R/T incl taxes and fees on a $39 DING! I am holding out! I feel assaulted!Say no to crack!
Ha! Ha!

Just got PVD-MCO one way 59 nonstop in late August. Flights home have not opened up yet, so we may be stuck in Orlando for a while----oh well!:woohoo:
